I'm hoping it all clicks for us and we give them a pasting. Depends on availability of a few such as Jedinak and Grealish, but if we have our best players available then we've a good chance of seeing a few goals.

I'll go 3-1.

I know things are different these days, but we've completely overhauled the side and its Brentford we're talking about here.

Think I only know one of their players; Judge.

Otherwise they are a bit of an unknown quantity.
Judge is currently out with a broken leg.

They are an inconsistent, young team who have tightened it up defensively this season while still playing good football. They have a good striker in Scott Hogan and don't really have any obvious weak links throughout the side.

Ta Badminton.

Had a quick look at their squad and the odd name sounds familiar. In particular McEachran; ex-Chelsea tiny midfielder.
McEachran doesn't get a kick in this side at the minute. They play Woods and Yennaris as their two central midfielders and both are dynamic and able to pass the ball. McEachran is lightweight and unlikely to ever flourish, particularly in the Championship.

It's likely they will give a first start to Sullay Kaikai on loan from Palace. I think the way they are likely to score is by Villa pushing their full-backs up the pitch and becoming exposed in transition. Macleod and Sawyers are clever players and Hogan doesn't need many chances to make the opposition pay.

Need a win and we will get it 3 - 1.

Gollini, De Laet, Elphick, Chester, Cissokho. Ayew, Westwood, Jedinak, Grealish, Mccormack, Kodija

Bunn, Baker, Amavi , Gardner, Bacuna, Tshibola, Adamoah, Gestede

Serious competition for places now in the attacking 4 particularly. Bacuna and Gestede have played well this season but can't get in and we haven't seen enough of Amavi, Tshibola and Adamoah just yet.  The worry is that Jedinak and Westwood aren't the most mobile and will have to cover a lot of ground. Still it's the strongest squad we have had since the MON days I reckon.

We look bang average in the middle of the park with either Westwood and Gardner in there (never mind both of them!) so would want to see Jedinak and Tshibola in there if fit.

Other than that I wouldn't be looking to make any changes from the side that started against Forest.

Strengthen the midfield and I can see us coming out comfortable winners; I'll go 3-1 McCormack, Kdojia and Ayew.

Brentford Nylons

There was a Birmingham band called Brent Ford and the Nylons.  Lead Singer John Mostyn is credited with discovering Inner City which is ace, and Ocean Colour Scene, which isn't.

Will Gollini be fit for Wednesday? I would feel far less confident if Bunn was in goal.

At the match I thought Bunn could have done better for their first, I saw it again today for the first time. He couldn't have done, it was a great goal.

I refuse to look at the league table at the moment for two reasons. Firstly it's disappointing and secondly it in no way reflects the quality of our team. It's time to start getting results that reflect the talent we have, beginning with a win tomorrow.

Dean Smith's a Villa fan isn't he?

Did a really good job at Walsall and after a dodgy spell has got Brentford just outside the play offs where they'll probably finish the season.

Brentford will come and attack and play football so I reckon that's good opponents for us to get an overdue win as we'll have more space to work with in the final third then Forest game.

3-1 win.
