3-1 Villa

Gestede, Kodjia, Grealish

I would go 3-5-2, with Baker coming in at the back, Jedinak and Tshibola into midfield if fit, Amavi and De Laet out wide and a front 3 of Ayew, Gestede and Kodjia, bringing Jack and McCormack on when they tire.

An easy win, please. Make sure a couple of those agonising misses end up over the line this time.

Both teams will score, we will do one more than them. The run begins.

Straight-forward Villa victory...2-0 and so the inevitable rise begins...

- music starts around 12 secs.

Ha! That's a blast from the past. I still know all the words but the intro took me by surprise which isn't strange considering I haven't heard it for over 40 years. It's one 7" in my box that stays there. Maybe/hopefully I'll dig it out again in May 2017.
Marvellous. I've got that somewhere, as well!

Anyone got a copy of 'Play Aston Villa' (early 80s)?

352 with a front 3

Wouldn't that be 343? 🤔🤔🤔

7" in your box you say?

Someone is due a tonking and I fucking hope we don't hit the bloody woodwork again. Early days it may be but I think this is must win. If we want to stay within sniffing distance of the top 6 we need to win. In our position, with our fragility, lagging too far behind would be a disaster.

3-1.
Kodija
Ayew
Big Rudy.

Not so confident after their result at Brighton but then the Seagulls were poor. 3-1 Villa I hope.

Once we start believing in ourselves, take our chances and make the most of our periods of dominence we will shit on most of this league I feel. Newcastle likely will too. Cut the sloppiness and just try and make things easier for ourselves. That extends to RDM too, who showed a lot of naivity once we went 2-1 up. He took a big gamble leaving just one CM on the pitch. It paid off in turning the game round but at that point we should have put someone else in there, either Jed or Leandro to provide more presence without having to necessarily lose the front foot. He won't make that mistake again.
And lets get ruthless now.

Hoping for a win but, when teams are announced and I hear those two terrible words, Westwood & Gardner, my heart will sink once again. Don't you think it has the same effect on the other players in the team? If those two start displaying any Italian tendencies, we will know there's more to it than meets the eye!!!

Quite incredible that many of us, including myself, aren't confident of a home win against Brentford.

I've added a poll as Dave was too slack to do it!

A bigger demolition you'll not see this season. Aston Villa 7 (seven) Brentford 0
