Doctor X should give Beckham a call to see if he wants help with his MLS franchsise, Miami Villa works nicely as a name

Given our historical involvement with the city, I'd rather we went with the new Atlanta franchise but they've already chosen the tedious United as their name.
If you wouldnt mind eloborating, What involvement is that please?

Without checking I think it's got something to do with former Villa player Phil Woosnam being involved with Atlanta Chiefs in various roles and I think Emmet Kapengwe played for them as well.

If we're looking for somewhere for a pre-season trip, San Diego Villa also sounds good

Basically Phil Woosnam was heavily involved with the Atlanta Chiefs NASL team and Peter McParland and Vic Crowe also played for them. In one season we went over to America to play in a tournament under the name "Atlanta Chiefs", even though it was actually Villa playing.

There was more to it than that, was dealt with at length in a previous article in H&V.
