A terribly bad player but a true professional. Good luck.
Is there actually any need for this?
I think there is a need to recognise his professionalism and also wish him good luck.

He was awful at times, especially the first season, just because he's leaving doesn't change that. He seems a good pro and person and I wish him all the best, not going to pretend those dog awful performances didn't happen though.

Good luck to him.

I’d be interested in reading his thoughts on his time here as he never really looked like the player we thought we’d signed.

That's true, but you could say the same about most members of the squad to be honest.

He suffered more than most from the tactics deployed in that first season, he and Baker made a very immobile pairing and the lack of a decent DM made it easy for opposition to slip balls in the side of him and make him look even worse.

He may have looked better later when we became more compact under SB, who obviously didnt fancy him, despite him being a similar type of player to himself in his playing days.

his best moves were reserved for head butting the posts before kick-off.

Great pro, had his best stints for us mid-season in the last two years and was well-regarded in his loan spell at Hull.

Would have been decent back-up for another year in the Ch'ship but the last game I think he played for us, I had a good view of him in the cold at Brentford when for 90 minutes he had done an excellent job in fending off the Brentford attack until Maupay rolled him to hit the winner.

Started poorly but when used in the last two seasons put in some decent performances. I guess he’ll go back to Hull and hopefully he’ll do well for them again.

His recall from loan is one reason we are back in the Premier League, he was a competent centre half and a leader when we needed it. Plus, he stood with the fans when we beat Birmingham. He could have just sulked.

Will be a decent signing for someone in the Championship, especially on a free.  Reports were that he did well on loan at Hull, so would be a good addition for someone like them.

We won 2 of 10. As I said there's a lot to like about him and he has my best wises for the future, but it doesn't change that he was a lot more miss than hit when he played.

He also confirms the importance and the difference a decent coach can make to a player.

Exactly
Bruce did him no favors at all.
