Thats good news, I always understood him to be pretty handy at Bournemouth but I he had a nightmare in that Sheff Weds opening game and he always seemed to struggle from there.

Good luck to him mind, he seemed a decent fella.

A JT lite. Tommy is a trier but what sort of quality are we talking and the level is he required but then what is our level and current situation I guess gives him another opportunity. For his leadership and talking and experience yes but how do we see him and Villa level as he wasn't one for last season .
Is it a needs must with departures of JT Chester and maybe Jedinak ?

I think we will need to hold onto him and give him a proper chance at making the position his.

I would like to keep JC too , if at all possible.

Away Hull.

Best and worst of tommy .
I think he could have cleared Evandro goal and didn't seem mobile and determined enough.

Miss placed passing

Keeping on side opposition not stepping up

However !! A goal ! Yes was straight forward on par with England Panama but he had a great finish and he does offer a threat.

I think he could be kept on this season as offers something however he has tendency basically to mess up!
That is concerning!

Not for me Skillzy simply for the reason you have stated.  It's heart-in-mouth time every time he is on the ball and I would prefer us to bring in a left sided centre back, with Chester going back to the right side.

Axel Tuanzebe would be decent at the back .

Wondering if Bruce looking to go 3-5-2 depending on additions

I was hoping for an improvement from him on Monday but he was as bad as ever, he's not nicknamed Bombscare for nothing.
It's not down to any lack of effort or application, he seems like a decent bloke but it just isn't working.

I think he is definitely good enough to keep and would improve with a settled run of games. It takes a good while for centre backs to settle-particularly with positioning, which seems to me his main fault. Although this is his second time around for us, should be better for a run of games. If not there are alternatives. I think we have failed to bring too many players up to their potential in the past and written them off too easily.

I agree to some extent  that he could get better however I do feel Bruce will keep him around the club rather than play him consistently  .

So unless we sign a quality centre half. He's needed even if he not a first teamer.

In today match v wigan

I think he'll be playing this match if only because he scored and Bruce rewards him.

Like to see a bit more ruthlessness from bruce this season

Vs the yeovil last night captain calamity gives away a pen.

Is there no end to his error prone ways?

It was a dodgy decision anyway. Overall he was ok last night.
