Is it a loan or a sale?

“With the emergence of Easah Suliman and Tuanzebe walking through the door, then it gives me the ideal opportunity to let him go and play.”

This is probably the oddest bit of the whole thing.  "the emergence of Easah Suliman" - Can you really say that about a young central defender whose only inclusion in the squad was against Wigan in the cup in August and who has seen 3 full backs and a central midfielder get games ahead of him in his position?  Where exactly has he emerged?

Yeah that's a bogus excuse anyway, local hacks should surely be calling him out on it

Tuanzebe is highly rated and I suspect part of the agreement with United was that he would be coming in as third choice CB behind Terry and Chester and very likely to see game time as a result.

Strange to change our centre half options at this stage of the season. Elphick has been solid, even Samba hasn't been too bad. Jedi's stint there cost us points.

Elphick and Tshibola leaving, RDL and Gollini gone, McCormack exiled. Kodjia, Chester, Adamoah and Jedinak have done well. Very much a mixed bag, the summer of 2016....

He has had a few good games. Rewind to pre-4th November and the idea of Elphick being anywhere near the side would have made you all cry.

Agreed. Delighted in how he came in from the cold and performed but up until that point he was someone everyone was scared to death seeing in a Villa top. But he’s a seasoned pro who wants games and bringing in a a top prospect from Man U will have come with playing expectations. I think the player to really miss out will be Bjarnason eventually. Jedinak is clearly not fully fit and Whelan has dropped down the pecking order. So I can see Axel in front of Terry and Chester on a few occasions and filling in for Terry to give him a break.

He's done nothing too much of note and wants first team football, which we can't offer given he's not good enough.

Instead we have a young and hungry player, who, by all accounts is good. We'll be fine. If nothing else, surely our defence is the one thing we're all agreed on, it's improved massively. Why wouldn't we trust the manager?

Good luck Tommy in your move. Shame that you have to line up alongside bacuna though!

... There are some players that no matter what they do they don't fancy.  Tommy is one of those.
What the hell does that mean? Bizarre statement.

And then he came in, when we didn't have anybody else, which is the point.

And we've replaced him.

Let's hope his replacement is better than Onomah then.

He doesn’t need a particularly high bar to be better than Elphick. I wouldn’t judge his entire body of work at Villa based on two (albeit) good games. He’s had lots and lots of shockers.

It just seems a strange time to get rid of him when we finally looked like the squad is capable of sustaining a promotion push. He looked good when he replaced Terry but now we’ve got to hope this new kid is the real deal.

FFP innit.

Which would make sense if we'd sold him but I can't imagine his wages are particularly high so unless we've got a fat loan fee out of Reading it'll make very little difference to FFP.

Think I read a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season
