Yawn - at least send this to memories where this Villa fan can try not to harm himself away from prying eyes.

I once recall reading an article in the sixties from a player of that era who said that he thought Birmingham fans were the fairest in the country.

By Birmingham he meant both sets of supporters.

Re Francis I'm only stating what I heard from Blues fans. As I said I was highly dubious.

How would they know, we were playing QPR?

The only recollection I have of this match, was us going 4 down, then the late great Tony Hateley scoring 2 goals and I was thinking this could be one of our greatest comebacks.

We got relegated that season and who finished just above us to escape the job, the Geordies. Don't think Mike Ashley was in charge of them in those days!

I wasn't at the match but Bluenose buddies of mine insist a large section Villa applauded Trevor Francis

when scored a hat trick against for QPR. Sounds unlikely to me.

So you, a Villa fan didn't attend a match between Villa and QPR and your 'blue nosed buddies'  -two or more did.  That's the sort of things Blues fans always do isn't it?

You're making all this up aren't you?

Original game from MOTD for those interested. Couldn't hear any loud applause at end though.

So you won't take "yes" for an answer?

It was a long time ago but I'm reporting my memories in good faith.

But here's the thing: why would Villa fans possibly object to being called fair minded as it seems some of you do?

I was at the Chelsea game and don't remember Tambling being applauded. I do remember that it was said that he "scored five and declared".

I applauded when Cruyff left the pitch, no idea if others did, but that was warranted.

I recall applauding Lampard on his record breaking day. I remember imagining he had joined us from West Ham instead of them. It seems incredible that this was actually an option back then. And I also remember applauding Henry when he tore us a new one at VP many years ago. He was awesome. So was Ashley Cole that day too, if I recall. But I didn't applaud him.

I haven't got a fucking clue what this means, but as I was there I that day I'd trust my own memory over some people that wouldn't have even been at the game.

And you know what bluenoses are like in general mate, they're hopeless liars and fantasists, I'm sure you'd agree.

I was in the Lower North and Lampard got a lot of applause as he walked past at the end of the game. Same game that EBJT got absolutely slaughtered while down injured in front of us and as he was stretchered off.

I was upstairs and gave him a standing ovation. I thought it was brilliant how gracious we were to great professional in contrast to his arsehole teammate.
