Another bit of responsible journalism.

I'm really starting to hate Gregg Evans and how he manages to include a subtle dig at Villa in nearly all of his immature and clueless articles.

He's the Mail's equivalent of Franksy. Both with quite punchable faces. Not that I'm condoning that type of behaviour obviously. Honest.

I've always disliked him

Back to Newcastle they can fuck off, it's on the daily Mail now, they had their allocation they sold it. The End.

Why should anyone else move to make way for the self confessed greatest fans in the league

I must say I'd rather Newcastle didn't stay up at our place, couldn't care less if they did it the week after. I don't want them taking the pee at Villa park.

NUFC are a kind of Ollbeeyun-lite, their fans think their club is all that when the truth lies on another planet.

I must know the wrong sort of Newcastle fans in that case. Although, doesn't every football supporter think their own club is 'all that' or special in some way?

Newcastle fans are a very sensitive lot. They were really upset not only with our piss take (see video) but the fact we had the two banners. Man City fans too don't seem to see the funny side of our fans singing to them 'Where were you when you were shit?'. For some reason it really upsets them. I don't know if it's just me but football has always been about taking the piss out of opposition fans when the chance arises and the day we sent Newcastle down was a masterclass. The fact they got their revenge on their return to the PL and stuffed us at their place doesn't heal their wounds. As I said, they're a sensitive lot. They really need to get over themselves.

There's a reason this video has over 111,000 views.. it's fucking hilarious, at least in my book.

I honestly cannot remember who relegated us last time - don't care - I don't hold it against Manure this time as it was more of a mercy killing

We relegated Stoke in the 70's didn't we and took the piss - they don't care

Don't blame the Toon for wanting to pack the place out - we were all up for it against Wigan 2 seasons ago (footage readily available) except we didn't need to...

They'll beat us 3-0 anyway...

Wigan was a bit different though. We'll be giving Newcastle the usual away allocation for Villa Park but Whelan cut Villa's allocation for Wigan because he didn't want us making more noise than them. That's why all those Villa fans were sitting in the Wigan ends.

Better comparisons would be Blackburn and QPR away in 1992 when Villa fans were prominent in every section of the ground. Although we weren't shit then

Yeah, I too can't abide him and had thought the exact same thing regarding his face.

Sheffield Wednesday at home was the final-nail, although a 2-1 defeat at Arsenal the Saturday before saw to it we we'd need to go through the play-offs at best (in the days when three from the division 2 and one from division 1 took part) to have any chance of staying up.

As an aside, I've not seen the footage of male, hugely overweight, shirtless, fully-grown Villa fans sobbing over relegation yet...

i'll address that at home against Newcastle by taking my 6 year-old and pinching him really hard at full-time.

I have generally met very decent Newcastle fans and admire their support for a team that has never bothered trophy polishers in my lifetime, and I'm 53. I missed the 2009 game as I had moved to China about 5 days beforehand, but thought the mockery sounded OTT - probably different and more fun if you were actually in the ground though. Singing and piss taking sounds natural, but making banners seemed strange to me. Make a banner to support Villa, not one that will be used once about a team we don't care about.

We also relegated them on a midweek game around 1978, beating them 2-0, but I reckon it was in April and they had been doomed for ages. IIRC the Mail ran a story the next day that they had brought a minibus of fans and their players were so impressed they had a whip round to cover the cost.

Didn't we also effectively send them down at their place in 1988/89? or am I going saft?

Their local press are stoking it up which doesn't help: http://www.themag.co.uk/2016/04/revealed-actually-15000-empty-seats-aston-villa-still-refuse-sell-newcastle-fans-newcastle-united/

We are 'refusing' them tickets? Despite the fact they've had the maximum league allocation of 3,000, and no team has had more than this for a league game for as long as I can remember at VP.

That's a bit like saying Heroes & Villains is the local press.

Is he fully grown and hugely over-weight?
