Lowest I've felt as a Villa fan in 25 years of following them. Just looking at the team sheet is enough to put me off for the rest of my life. Someone at the club has to show some guts, some ambition to make the hard decisions that are going to be needed.
That's all the players gone then.
Strip out the rotten core of below average players and install some pride. Currently there is none.

I can only concur with everyone else on here in that in 55 years supporting villa that's the most embarrassing I've ever felt.
Those gutless spineless wonders do not deserve to wear the shirt of this once famous club but the blame is squarely at Lerners door he should be ashamed that he is the worst custodian in our clubs history bar none, even worse than the board of 68.
I said on here before villa fans have shown such restraint but now I think a boycott of the remaining games is the only way we can send a message that we have had enough.

When we lost to Everton at home in 67 4-2 that was my lowest point. Then the following week we lost 6-2 at Southampton. Today I just felt numb after their second goal and left just after their fourth.

I'm open minded about Garde but he stood there totally out of his depth today.
I get the lack of options, Andre Green on the wing would be a start though.

I worry about him - he has a lack of options to chose from, but I think he's a 'cowardly' manager. Dignified, well spoken, articulate yes. But cowardly in his selections and lineups. He's never going to play on the front foot. Never going to effect a change from the bench.

He is McCleish/Lambert with a worse squad to work with.

This is the worst defeat I have seen inflicted upon us at home. I missed the Woodcock bucket of goals game when Arsenal pummeled us. Well we have been filling the bucket ...no...skip full of shit for 5 seasons now and I think we can cover it up today. This humiliation is galling behind belief.

I've witnessed all the awful aforementioned defeats. Arsenal, Forest, Chelsea etc, but this tops the lot.

From the kick off, there was no pressing, no players within 5 yards of their players. Who thought it was a good idea to concede possession and not challenge or press? Did the manager instruct them? To play badly is one thing but not to run or give 100% is inexcusable when the rewards are so ridiculously high.

If the first half was pathetic, the second half was worse than shambolic. No effort from a woeful set of players.

I think only Gana got a sweat on. The rest were just abject and took no responsibility. The defence were a nightmare and the rest of the midfield were appaling; static, sideways, slow and substandard in every respect.

No he didn't and in his post-match interview he mentioned that he was bemused by their inability to get tighter to opponents. I do think Garde over emphasised the quality we were facing today but generally he is brutally honest and for me his integrity is still apparent.

I heard Dennis Mortimer on the radio on the way home after the match and he more or less said everything i and everyone around me was thinking. He thought we might lose one or two nil but never in his wildest dreams could he  have imagined  such a performance lacking in pride, passion  and worst of all effort.Sad days indeed for our once great club
He will remember, as many of us older fans do, that marvellous team performance just over 35 years ago, when he scored the goal against champions Liverpool that gave us the belief that we could actually go on to win the league. How we long for players of his calibre now.

If I was Remi Garde I would pick the kids next game and send a message to the main core of 16 crap players. Let them get experience for next season, so we know which kids is worth using for complete rebuild of team.

Look, the players are just not good enough for the Premier League and never will be. The only ones who ever were are ageing and past their best, and that's the only reason they're here.
You continually sign lower league standard players and eventually you'll end up there. This has been coming for 5 years and it's entirely down to Lerner's 'couldn't give a fuck' attitude to Aston Villa, and it feels more like sabotage than anything else.
It's a miserable experience being a Villa fan under his ownership. Shame on him.

Some of the players are good enough.

There are just too many who are not good enough.

I've been badly ill all weekend.

Led in the sickbed, I was watching the game on the iPad and turned it off after the second goal.

I woke up about 5 ish and saw the BBC page that I'd had open said 0-2. Not too bad considering how crap we'd defended.

Then I refreshed the page......

What else did Sir Dennis say on the radio. If I buy the club I would make sure there is a job for Sir Dennis Mortimer as we need to identify players who will performs like Mellberg, Teale, McGrath, Talyor, and Laursen, not the 85% of our squad.

We're rotten from the top down. Lerner and his boardroom cronies are the main culprits and relegated us as far back as the 1st Jan with no investment in the team. Lerner, Fox,Hollis, Reilly and Almstadt are all responsible. The players on the pitch are poor but are reflective of the poor owner and board. Villa fans support for Garde vs Norwich was great but the board got off lightly in that match with the fans not slating them the 1st home match after the transfer window closing. This should be a given whether we win, lose or draw!!!! Im boycotting the club and hitting the owner where it hurts. No season ticket, no merchandise, no programmes, no food/drink at the ground, match tickets only of a certain price. Villa fans need to act and not just talk to let Lerner and co. know how we feel.
Liverpool fans shouldn't gloat too imuch. They are in exactly the same position as we were when MON left, so they maybe where we are in 5 years time. I don't need to be told by the likes of carragher how embarrassing we are that's just stating the obvious and remember AVFC stopped his "mate" (Gerrard) from reaching a cup final last season- that's embarrassing. Finally brummie lobscouse are pathetic.
