Good win for the Bears ,although to be honest just about every team beats the Foxes at the moment ,i think that is ten defeats on the bounce for them in this format of the game now .Good knocks from Hain ,Porterfield and Evans .I still think our bowling is not good enough,OHD and Wright struggled again .

Interesting to hear Clive Eakin on line saying that Chopra is not being selected for the white ball game as he has indicated that he will not be extending his contract and is looking to move nearer his home which i presume is near Essex .If true ,i go along with leaving him out

Chopra is going to Surrey I believe. Another reason that Bell taking the captaincy was right

Two changes for the Bears game at Trent Bridge from yesterday Wright and Rankin left out and replaced by Jones and Javid. Seems like OHD is the new Westwood, plays no matter what

What on earth is going on at Warwick? Leaving out good quality bowlers like Barker and Rankin, already hampered by Woakes being with England, so we throw in a guy who is 29 with a one day bowling average of over a 100, and have a part-time bowler opening who averages over 60, and we expect this to cause problems to Lumb and Wessels who both scored rapid centuries a few days ago?

Should have known we weren't serious about going far in a one-day tournament this season when Luke Ronchi was the marquee signing whilst others sign the likes of Chris Gayle, Jayawardene and Afridi. Seems we've got a stubborn coach in Brown and people at the top more interested in spending money on the corporate and hospitality sections of the ground than on the salary of a proper overseas player. Surely a 'clever' (or actually quite obvious) idea would be to get a Pakistani or Indian overseas player, tap in to certain areas of the local fanbase a bit, if they demand an additional salary it will pay for itself with bums on seats.

Well done done Dougie Brown that score posted by Notts just now beats by quite a distance the previous highest scored by a team against the Bears in a one day game. 415 beats the previous highest of 340 by quite a distance. That useless so called slow death expert of a slow death bowler as he likes to call himself OMD really excelled today 1-89 off just 8 overs ,has there ever been a poorer bowler play for the Bears? To be fair though Jones 1-85 and Patel 1-80 were just as  bad. I said it a few weeks ago and i will say it again ,Dougie your a nice bloke but your out of your depth as DOC and need to go and there has to be doubts if Ian Bell has got what it takes to be a good captain .Still cant believe with the poor bowling options he has available he wins the toss and puts Notts in after the form they have been in the last week or so

If agree with all of the above.
The current score indicates that we are going to finish miles off with wickets in hand again.
Just what is the point? I hope I am proved wrong.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that Barker is injured.

We are going to end with a pretty decent score. I don't think you can blame the batsmen for today's atrocity.

Good knocks from Hain, Bell, Trott and Ambrose. If one of them had stuck around we'd have been in with a shout. The game was lost due to the 26 overs bowled by Hannon-Dalby, Jones and Patel going for 254 runs.

What's the point in a "pretty decent score" when you're chasing a phenomenal score.

Go for it or go home.

I'm pretty sure they did go for it. The bowlers left them an impossible task. If Villa lose their opening game seven-five next season, I won't be blaming our forwards.

More importantly, has Trent Bridge been moved to somewhere on the M1? Over 1500 runs in 200 overs in the last two days

I never thought i would see the day the Bears post their best ever one day score of 379 and still lose by a fair margin .There again our bowling options are a lot worse than even i thought .Listening to the game on line the most worrying thing from a Bears point of view i thought, was other than the Bears guy Phil Britt, everyone else from about the 35th over were forecasting that Notts would reach about 420 .I remember thinking at the time, bloody hell we will have to bowl really bad for that to happen. There again when your regular opening bowler can go for 27 in the final over i should have half expected it

We can't blame the batsmen, or even Patel as he is normally a very good bowler in both one-day formats. Brown's management, Bell's decision to bowl first and the bowlers out of their depth such as OHD, Jones and Javid (being used as a front-line bowler rather than a part-timer) all needs looking at.

OHD is useless. 89 off 8 overs? Surely Barker wouldn't concede that many runs, and is a better batsman. Brown kept persevering with Westwood until the penny dropped. Also, where is Chopra? especially after that excellent. Something doesn't add up with Brown's selections; he's becoming the equivalent of Eric Black! Serious questions need to be asked by the Bears hierarchy.
