Aren't there any nice Hummel kits knocking about these days?

To be honest the manufacturer doesn't matter to me if the crest is still Lerner's one.

If it's changed then I'll buy a shirt again.

Otherwise no.

80s or 2000-07 crest is fine, either will do.

I'd imagine it's a new crest as well. Absolutely no reason not to change it now. Clear the decks and let's enter the Premier League with a reborn Aston Villa.

It will be the same crest. We'd have heard something by now if not.

Kitted out
News of a new technical partner for our 2018/19 kits will break on club channels in the coming weeks.

Today we announced that we will be mutually ending our agreement with Under Armour, who have been with us for the past two years.

They will make way for an innovative new agreement, which will be ground-breaking within football and, more importantly, will benefit our supporters.

If it's innovative and 'helps supporters' I'd assume it's unlikely to be one of the Adidas/Nike/Puma triumvirate. Which is disappointing as I'd kill for an adidas villa shirt. Been a fan of the UA ones to be fair, particularly this year's.

How have you come to that conclusion based on the press release?

Innovative and ground-breaking in football?

Maybe it's not a sports manufacturer. Huawei kits? Recon?

Can't think of any other way it could be ground-breaking.

Virtual reality kits. The lads will play in the nip to distract the opposition, and we'll all wear goggles to view them in the Claret & Blue

This had better not be a ‘Villa Leisure’ type set up.

Puma are very hit and miss with their kits.

Their current Rangers shirt (home) is a classic in my opinion and they've made a couple of nice ones for Arsenal, but they have a problem with trying to do too much with the design and the fit can be an issue too.

For fit, quality and design, Adidas are the best out there. They very rarely make a badly designed shirt and the quality of the material is top notch. Most of their current World Cup shirts are amazing. Spain, Belgium, Argentina, Colombia all spot on.

Umbro were reliable but I'm not sure how their stuff is since the Nike takeover and then sale but I'd still like to see an Umbro deal if not Adidas.

Nike as we know don't really give a shit and have about three templates. Quality is good though.

Getting the claret right is a minimum anyway as the last few have been purple.
