Why did we not start the game playing like this?

The "fuck it" mentality only kicks in when we've already lost the game.

And the other team have relaxed

We were the better team until the penalty.

Who was the last player we had that could actually threaten regularly with shots from distance?  Hizlsperger?

Thing is we've competed this half, but we already killed ourselves with the first half.

Agreed. We just struggled to play for 90 mins, and we just lack any cutting edge even having played better.

The issue now with the upcoming transfer window is convincing players to join when the likelihood is they will be embroiled in what appears to a pointless battle to survive. What player of any significance wants to further their career at a club that is almost certain to go down?

No one can seriously be surprised. Its the hope thats killing you all - I'd bet my house now we are going down.

The good news is that I am one of the few who believe it might be the turning point, whereas another survival by the skin of our teeth will just prolong the averageness. Lets go down, clear out, give Remi some serious support, and then with a winning season, we come back and stick the laughs back down their throats.

I understand where you are coming from but fear we wont bounce back. It's a hard league to get out of and we coudl be joined by Sundeland and Newcastle wo also feel they should bounce back.

i think we'd walk back into the PL at the first attempt - the Championship is far worse than people think, we'd be a cut above in that league even as bad as we are. With the right additions, trust in Remi, and vocal backing, we'd be back for the 17/18 season.

I'm not so sure. Players will go where the money is, and if you give them a get out relegation clause they will come.
We have to spend if we want a chance of staying up.

Averageness? There's nothing vaguely average about this club. It's a shithouse. And this is what's really painful. Shit teams are one thing. But this whole club has become shit. As much as it sickens me to say it, Ian Holloway was right.
Spot on.
Not at the time he wasn't - the little yokel fuckrat.
