From the Guardian:

Wycombe Wanderers v Aston Villa. Who’s favourite for that?

Bastards!

I wouldn't put money on us - Remi will want out the Cup as soon as possible. Wycombe will probably hope that we field a weak team, so they will be hoping for our first XI !!

you know this how exactly?
Because he will want to concentrate on the Premier League and the £100m it will bring us next year - it's not rocket science!

ah ok, that makes sense then. So you don't think he might use wins in the FA Cup to boost the morale of the team? Or how about the fact we got to the cup final last year despite being dire. Do you think it helped or hindered our chances of staying up?

Staying in the cup will do more good than crashing out early. Just think about it for a sec!!

I can't help but doubt that losing to Wycombe will do wonders for our confidence and self belief in staying up.

Easy to get to, should be cheap and I would expect us to win.

A trial run for next season then😀

Brentford potentially facing Walsall is an interesting one.

Remi has played in the premier so he knows what the cup means
Don't know how seriously he will take it but he will at least know how important it is to fans

I can't help but doubt that having a cup run and incurring injuries and suspensions will help us stay up.

I'm not sure how many TV games there will be but I imagine the matches at Chelsea, Everton, Exeter, Man Utd, Salford/Hartlepool and Spurs will be picked before ours.

Staying in the Premier League is more important than ever this year with the £100m to follow - if we go down we may not return for a long time.
The cup run did us a power of good last year being humiliated by Arsenal - it made us a laughing stock in the most one-sided final in years. I have watched Villa for over 50 years and that was one of the most humiliating games I have ever endured. Forget the Cup this year, it is very very unimportant to the future of Aston Villa Football Club

I take it you didn't go to either the semi or the final then?
