Whilst it probably isn't easy attracting players to join us, it wouldn't be impossible.

I reckon it could be a feisty atmosphere on Saturday if we get turned over by the carrot munchers.

Naismith and Bamford score the goals too. It would not be a fun place to be.

It'll be like 86-87 all over again!

Easy for me to say as being stuck out here, but I hope our support show the same level of commitment as the club has during this window, I know season ticket holders have forked out so cant blame them for going, but any match by match supporter, I hope tells them to stuff it.

The problem is, they've clearly tried to sign somebody and a goal scorer that looked decent too on paper, even going so far as to outbid the competition. We cannot escape the point Brian and others have made; our fate was sealed against Watford, Norwich and Sunderland in terms of transfer targets of any reasonable quality and a s a result, our relegation was all but confirmed.

Nothing is confirmed though Ads. Beat West Ham and Norwich and we have a lifeline. Other upcoming games are against inconsistent teams. Who knows what might happen?

If you're already stuck with your ticket (like me) then fair enough, but other than that don't give them a penny. Don't buy a beer, a bovril, a programme or a pie.

Think he was one Garde was quite keen on judging from his comments this morning. Big shame that.

It is pretty desperate that the brains trust could not identify 3-4 players to strengthen this team in January that would realistically come. They had time, it is pretty pathetic.

I agree it's absolutely pathetic. From a moral point of view alone we desperately needed new players.

Absolutely. I'm 9/10 sure we'll go down, but its that other 10% of my brain/heart that shouts the loudest.

I'd have loved to have seen us role the dice and it seems that we have at least targeted players, the main one being a striker, but with no good coming from chucking money at that situation. There are others players and I assume we've tried elsewhere and had similar issues.

As I see it, if you're a good player, you wouldn't come to us in the situation we're in, as there will be better offers. I am of the view that we'd be better holding onto our cash than spending it on yet more pap simply for the sake of it, if we cannot get quality in. We've had a gutful of poor players and we're reaping that particular whirlwind right now.

Micah Richards has been linked with a move to Sunderland, while Joelon Lescott is a reported target for LA Galaxy.

Garde said: "No chance, he is going nowhere he has many games to play for Aston Villa.

"Joleon too is going nowhere, people may have wishes but they know they are staying here".

You've summed up how I feel and think, Ads. Agree 100%.

The other thing that makes me slightly cynical to this idea that had we been closer to safety we'd have got the players in is that we haven't over the past few years have we? We've just about survived over the last 3 or 4 years and I can't remember any signings of note in January. If we were in 17th now I'd be surprised if we'd have spent more than £5 million and it's that lack of ambition that is a major factor in where we are today.

Sounds like the Blues approach to me. I can't see what that would achieve, it wouldn't get us sold any quicker.
Anyway, fans will make up their own minds.

I am hearing that Newcarrssul have now bid £25m for Berahino - surely that cannot be right, it is utter madness.
