The only problem with Gomis is he's really low on confidence isn't he? 1 goal in 5 months.

Well, it's a moot point anyway since Sky have reported no expected signings today.

I hope the barcodes DO stay up. They'll be massive competition for us in the Championship with that squad. Never actually thought I'd say that.

Good, if approaching Michu is anything to go by then we need to spend the next 4 months watching some football around Europe and make some smart decisions.

Various twitter accounts (none attached to a recognised news outlet) reporting: Aston Villa have made a bid in the region of £4m for Toulouse striker Aleksandar Pešić #AVFC.

Goals record for Toulouse far from spectacular, but did score two in December 2015 which were alright:

First one the goalie should have got a hand on, second one clear handball.  He would fit in perfectly.

Comes to something when you would consider Ravel Morrison just to not see Westwood

Between 17th of December and now we lost three six pointers to Watford, Sunderland and Norwich and became adrift.  That is the root cause of our recruitment problems.

Agreed. As we've seen with the 50 year old striker from Roma, its not even a cash thing. Nobody wants to come and join the relegation party and if you cannot get quality, then we shouldn't bother. That's mantra Lambert should have strongly considered.

It is not that the club or the board have written off our chances of survival, it is the wider world of football that has written us off.  It is like the captain of the Titanic inviting the passengers on the Carpathia to come aboard and enjoy the rest of the voyage.  It is not a money thing now, it is about asking millionaire players to spend the winter in Birmingham fighting for their lives in relegation battles.

Our transfer policy, as everything else at our club, is pathetic.
No strategy, foresight or planning, forget planning for the championship we should be going down kicking and screaming, trying everything in our power to get out of it, instead we are going down with a pathetic whimper.

It really is depressing when the reality sets in that no-one worth having wants to join us. The whiff of failure and the flutter of the white flag is omnipresent at Villa Park. It feels as if everyone from the top to bottom has just given in.

Reminds me of one of Kenneth William's favorite jokes. A drunk in the bar on The Titanic."Waiter I know I asked for ice in my drink but this is ridiculous!! "
