the  dilemma is even if there is a chance of survival come January, could we attract anyone who really would make a difference to sign? If we are hopelessly adrift on New Year's Day it might be better to start seriously identifying people we need for the Championship.

this

if we are still around the bottom 3 in jan who would want to come, if i was a player i wouldnt touch us with a bargepole

I really don't think a keeper is that vital at the moment but a spine is. Central defender, central midfielder and forward.

Vlaar? Flamini? Crouch?

One or two around the spine - and its here i'd expect Garde to pick one or two 'Dugarrys' from France.

Basically Garde, and Lerner, have one transfer window to save us.

Four players in January is tough but far from inpossible. That's what we need.

It smacks of desperation. Which is exactly where we're at.

Jedinak from Palace, a leader, tough and ideal to sit in front of a back four.  Not a regular at Palace and would not cost a lot.

Would be an ideal signing if we do drop down.  Limited player in the top flight though.

I have no idea if such a player is out there but, in an ideal world, if we could somehow bring in an experienced Cambiasso level of player to act as a leader and inspiration for the group it would be superb.

Danny Ings with one leg would still be more of a goal threat than Gabby and Gestede.

Seriously when your strike force is Ayew, Gabby and Gestede you know you're fecked.

Sinclair and Kozak to save us then. I trying for positives but I think they are best two strikers and had most big time experience it being good to use them

Both has the euro 2016 aim for and would be like a new signing Kozak the Czech republic. And Sinclair too for wales if he stays fit and recaptures his Swansea form both can come good.

Sinclair isn't Welsh

I'd be very surprised if the Czech Rep pick Kozak for the Euros seeing as he's barely played competitive football for over a year and isn't getting a look in.

I honestly think a double signing of Ronaldo and Messi would struggle to help us at the moment

I'll go with that especially Crouchy.  But it will probably be French players that Garde knows well from recent years.
