Calum Chambers isn't much quicker than Lescott.

I've said it before, Peter Crouch as a short term fix. He can hold the ball up and chips in with goals.

Let's hope we are still close enough to safety to warrant spending anything...we need some big-hearted, experienced players that can fight for our survival...and Paddy and Henrik should relegate their moneyball system to the academy.

the  dilemma is even if there is a chance of survival come January, could we attract anyone who really would make a difference to sign? If we are hopelessly adrift on New Year's Day it might be better to start seriously identifying people we need for the Championship.

This is the problem - anyone half decent will have several clubs tracking them. Joining the bottom team mid-season is hardly an attractive proposition. This means we end up buying someone who is at the end of their career or another nobody who needs time to adjust, blah blah blah.

Look for a team with a decent defence and buy the players.

I think it all depends where we are when the window opens. Stranded at the bottom, who will come and why would the club throw loads of money at it when it will make little difference? Let's face it all of the struggling clubs will be fighting over the same players, who would join knowing they will be playing in the championship next season?

Our biggest problem is goals and the fact we put all of our eggs as a club in the Adabayor basket who then bizarrely changed his mind due to a witch doctor or something!

Where was the plan B? We deserve to know from the club who was behind the transfer strategy in the Summer....of course we won't be told and they will leave at the end of the season with a nice big payoff no doubt.

Surely it is time for a bit of leadership and false narrative from Messrs Lerner and Fox?

Not ably replacing Benteke with someone who could get 10-12 goals will come back to haunt us. Did anyine really think a £6m buy from the Championship was going to cut the mustard?

I think we will buy a striker for 15 millions, plus goalkeeper, and defender or midfielder for 11 millions pounds combined and a loan player and hopefully 2 or 3 players leaving. Randy will spend to protect our chance. But it depends on how are we in New Year.

A realistic January target for me is to win a match by then and try to get to double figures in points!

I shouldn't laugh. And by laugh I mean laugh with sad tears in my eyes.
