Apparently he has a bad knee injury - he was brokered for a move to Everton and it fell through as they had would not have been able to get Charlie  Austin inured.  I have this from a good source, someone who was working at Everton until he got a manager's job in non league.

Charlie Austin has hardly smashed the Championship to pieces this season . Desperate though we are, I'm not sure he's what we are looking for. Mobility and presence.

Another reason to get Mathieu Flamini

Maybe worth looking at Benjamin Moukandjo or Alberto Paloschi and sign Léo Bonatini - this striker will develop into a top class player over next couple of years.

He can also play left back!

Sort of thing you would expect to read on April 1st. That's got to be bullshit hasn't it?

I see the Telegraph has us linked with Charlie Austin according to the BBC gossip page.

Austin is on a Bosman at the end of the season so I reckon he'll sit tight and chance getting a megadeal in wages for next season, what with all the summer talk of £90k a week and £5m signing on fee.

Would be happy giving Austin a go although I don't know how much the club would be willing to pay on him, or what kind of wages.

I would also be happy if we start giving Kozak some bloody games, but that would seem a pipe dream.

Austin at £8m or so wouldn't be too bad - the figures mooted in the summer were ridiculous

See Karl's post above about Austin's contract expiry.

Goalkeeping crisis may now be averted if we sign this fella from PSG

Callum Chambers can't get in the Arsenal squad. I wonder if he'd want to come and play left back for us.

He is a right back or CH not a left back
