That's the best thing I've seen for a very long time. I was 7 in 1969 and that's about when Villa started the road back to the top. I wonder when we will start back on that road again ? ::)

That was my era but there were still one or two players I struggle to name.

I was 15 and going to every game, home and away...courtesy of a bloody big paper round and a sympathetic Mum who thought "at least you're not wasting your money on rubbish".
A few of the youngsters I don't recognise but the vast majority are wonderfully familiar faces.

Some splendid haircuts there, my favourite being Pat McMahon at 1:40.

I started going to the Villa regularly around that time but I'm ashamed to say I don't remember half of those faces.

I saw this on You Tube recently, Brian Little himself posted it on Facebook recently!
This was my favourite time supporting Villa, travelling on the no.11 outer circle from Billesley, as a twelve year old, happy days.
I think I've got all of the players and officials, some were youngsters and several appeared two or three times, here goes, I think they are all right but someone can correct me:
In order of appearance:
B.Little, Knowles, Team pic, Team pic, Doc, Leggat (coach), Cox (trainer), Griffiths, Rowan, Turnbull, Frank Upton, Leo Crowther, Gibson, Graydon, Sheasby (I think), Melling, Chatterley, Lochead, Chatterley 2, Crowe, Tiler, Gregory, McMahon, Alun Evans, Curtis, Hamilton, Deakin, Little 2, Stark, Chatterley 3, McMahon 2, Doc, Cox, Rudge, Dunn, Wright, Ferguson, Anderson, Fred Pedley (physio), NRioch, Pedley twice, BRioch, BRioch colour, Doc (exit)......phew!

I've only looked at that once but, I think there's a lad on there by the name of Brian Rowan.  Played in defence, centre half/full back?

Yes Dave Brian Rowan was a Scottish left back, tipped to be the new Charlie Aitken at the time. He played in a hevy defeat 3-0 I think at Watford and nothing was ever seen of him again.

Absolutely scandalous defeat at Watford. One of the very worst Villa performances I have ever seen. Brian Tiler somehow managed to head through his own goal from the edge of the box. It was the day the previous seasons amazing Tommy Doc euphoria was well and truly killed off - he was gone a couple of months later.

Yes mate it was the day that Doc lost the plot, played Tiler in midfield I recall and was starting to bring back players he had bombed out such as  Hole, Edwards, Chatterley, Rudge and Godfrey in a last resort to turn the tide as we were rooted to the foot of the second division. About this time he signed John Phillips from Shrewsbury and Emment Kapengwe and Freddie Mwila from the NASL, and George Curtis to try and instill some much-needed grit, but constantly chopping and changing the team to no avail led to the final straw which was the 5-3 home defeat by Portsmouth

I remember the 3-5 against Portsmouth mainly for the fact there a some older, burly Pompey fans at the front of the Holte and there was a charge down from the back to have a go at the "fucking sailors"  when the game began to go pear-shaped.

Yes mate the Doc well and truly lost the plot that day too, dropping Charlie Aitken for Barry Lynch, and bringing in Jimmy Brown, I remember it was 2-2 at half time but the second half was a disaster, he replaced Lynch with Lionel Martin as we attacked the Holte End but two fairly late goals by Pompey did us and the crowd had enough.
