Forest & County.

I think many Forest fans would view Derby and not Notts County as their main rivals.  I was talking to someone at work about it earlier and I think unlike many other major rivalaries, we haven't played each other that often.  I think that fact makes the build up to the games more intense.

Notts (I know it annoys their fans calling them that !) Forest and Derby is another good example - Derby league champions twice in the early  1970s and Forest disrupting Liverpool's supremacy in the late 70s - another example of where one team historically is not superior to the other

Villa will face Blues in the Capital One Cup third round on Tuesday September 22.

The derby game at Villa Park will kick-off at 7.45pm and will be screened live on Sky Sports.

We were drawn with our neighbours following the completion of all second round ties.

We defeated Notts County 5-3 after extra-time while Blues beat Gillingham 2-0.

League Cup W 4 D 1 L 2
FA Cup W 2 D 1 L 0
Full Members (Simod) W 1 D 0 L 0

We've played Albion 165 times

Meanwhile the greatest team in small heath's history finished 6th (their only ever top 6 finish) and lost the FA Cup final.

That's the equivalent of our 1999/2000 side being the greatest and most succesful Villa side in our history.

Stop sniggering at the back.

My old man always used to say "We've had the FA cup nicked more times than they have won it"

They also lost the FA cup final 3-1 to Man city - whose GK played part of the game with a broken neck (just for the youngsters who may not know)

20th.

Oh !

Surely, us finishing 20th in a season when they finished 6th, sorry THE season when they finished 6th and reached an FA Cup Final should be on their honours list

League Champions from 1892, Sunderland, Sunderland, Villa, Sunderland, Villa, Villa, Sheff Utd, Villa, Villa, Liverpool, Sunderland.

Pointless but I like it.

And I'm sure I remember reading that a salary cap was introduced to stop Sunderland and Villa winning every (other season) in around 1905. Although I'm pretty sure Villa weren't even particularly big spenders in the 19th come 20th century in terms of wages.
