I see more of the apes when I'm at my place Tywyn than I do here in Stafford.

Growing up as I did in Great Barr, I never really knew any of them, and only became aware of their complete obsession about us when I went to work in the City Centre in 1974.

I think I may have mentioned it on here at the time - I watched the semi final against Liverpool in a local caravan club house in Tywyn, all was peaceful and good until 3 lads came in wearing Blues' shirts and vocally cheered everything good Liverpool did.  I just thought if they were playing Liverpool in an FA Cup semi final - I may go to watch it but if I needed to find somewhere, I doubt if I'd advertise being a Villan just to annoy them - strange people - more bothered about hating us than actually supporting their own team.

I wonder if Olof Mellberg has any plans that week. He'd be splendid special guest.

Exciting tie very much looking forward to it. Obviously after the Albion game, another pitch invasion is of concern. Don't know what punishment the FA would give us if that happened.
On another note this is the 4th time we've been drawn against Blues in the League Cup since 1988, yet the last time we met them in the FA Cup was 1901. Also this is the 10th time in a row we've had a home cup tie, the last away tie been Millwall in the FA Cup in Jan 2013. The odds against that happening I would say are very high.

I hate this game too. Painful mental and physical scars from 03.03.03.

The vilest supporters I've ever come across. It'll be a tricky one, but we've got a great chance to once again show them who's boss!

As much as they go on about what they've won recently in comparison to our 7 League Championships, 7 FA Cups, 5 League Cups and being Champions of Europe, they might care to reflect on 2002-03 being the ONE and only time they've finished in a higher league position than us (and then I think it was only two places !!).

Bigger club than us ??? not in the last 150 years nor in the next 150.

I see no reason why the boys can't be up for this and put them back in their place.

They've finished above us more than once, they've been in a higher division than us in the past, that is the only season in living memory for most of though, even those of us who are slightly mature. In age if not actions!

I recall the Mail producing some stats about 15 years ago saying that the Blues had finished above us around 16 times in their history.

I may have dreamed this though.....

I can't think of any other derby in British football where one team is so inferior to the other - think of (supposed lessor club second -Man Utd v Man City  (City have won the championship twice and FA Cup in recent years and in the late 60s and early 70s were the far better side - Liverpool v Everton - again in the mid 80s Everton were twice league champions and won the FA Cup and Cup winners Cup - Arsenal v Tottenham - Spurs won the double in the early 1960s as well as few more FA Cups and EUFA Cup -  Newcastle v Sunderland - the latter won the FA Cup against all the odds in 1973 and am I right in thinking have won it another time in the 1930s and maybe have been league champions - Celtic and Rangers have both had their time as the big boys in Scotland - both have won European honours - even when you put us up against west brom or wolves - at times they've both been far better than us - 2 divisions higher at one point.)

Meanwhile the greatest team in small heath's history finished 6th (their only ever top 6 finish) and lost the FA Cup final.

That's the equivalent of our 1999/2000 side being the greatest and most succesful Villa side in our history.

Stop sniggering at the back.

Stoke have only ever won the League Cup (once) and as someone who'se married to a "Stokie" I'm not aware of Port Vale basing their entire existence on Stoke slipping up.
