Is this first home game since 5-1 ?
First heard this when I got home last night and thought 'I can't be bothered with this'.
I've since slept on it and have a really positive instinctive feeling about the game. They may be well drilled under Villa Rowett but quality should overcome them. Derby outplayed them last week with simple pass and move stuff so with the likes of Grealish and Adama, the thought of how this game plays out excites me.
To sign Lescott this week would be a masterstroke by Tim. Two brummie lads at centre half who understand the derby is exactly what's needed.
If Clark and Baker don't understand the derby mentality, after being at Villa for 10 years...
Would you trust those pair at centre half in this game?
I certainly wouldn't pick centre halves based in the fact they are Brummies - and Richards was only born here as his mom was visiting, he didn't grow up here so probably knows less about it than Clark, who has at least played in one.
As far as I'm concerned if we never played that shower again it would be too soon.

If we play Clark and Baker as the centre back partnership for this one, I'm worried.
Give me a partnership of Richards and Lescott and my confidence for this one increases.
I'm fully expecting the old bill to cap their allocation to something they can control, probably the corner of Witton Lane. If they get the Upper North Stand as well, they're asking for trouble.
It will be a rush on for the Rugby for them to replace the toilets and seats with the inevitable destruction that will take place of them.
I think they'll just get the normal allocation, or if it's extended they'll just increase their amount in the Witton Lane rather than putting them in the North Upper.

No problem - don't rugby fans all piss in pint pots and shit out of coach windows anyway?
Small clubs in cup games should be awarded an allocation that reflects the usual away following they take, to keep band wagon jumpers and Johnny Come Latelys out the game.
Under those circumstances, we should be able to fit the Noses in the temporary Sky studio in-between the Holte and the Witton Lane.
Anyone there when we beat them 5-0 in the cup in 87?
I think we beat them twice that season, also 6-2 in the zenith data systems cup (?!) or simod cup, or whatever the fuck it was called then.
I was about 14/15 at the time- got the Lloyds bus from nuneaton and walking down trinity lane to the Holte was spine tingling. One bloke walking towards me had veins popping out of his head and neck he was that charged up- went to take a swing and obviously thought better about smacking a school kid at the last second. I skipped out the way anyway into the road and carried on. That was a mad night - they were lighting fires all over the witton end terracing and it was going off all over the place by the leisure centre where the coach was parked afterwards.

It Was 1988.
We beat them 5-0 and 2-0 in what was the Rumbelows cup then 6-0 in the Simod. I went to all three games.
It was my first live encounters with the unwashed and forged my mindset for the rest of my life. Just pure Blues of a club!!

Are the autocorrect is in
6-0 was it? I thought they got a couple at the end. My memory isn't the best! The 5-0 was also my first encounter with our lovely scumbag neighbours.
2-0 at least is my prediction for this and them to be despatched back to South Birmingham
The return leg was my one and only visit to the sty. I swore that I was never ever going to return there!
