He's clearly got bags of potential but needed good coaching, a side with structure that allowed him to work to his strengths and plenty of game time.

No wonder he wants out of this farce.

Would he not have had a bit of decent coaching at Barcelona?

Probably, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't need more. Otherwise teams wouldn't bother hiring first team coaches.

Obviously, but if he has been at a club like Barcelona he has some good grounding I would suspect

He played for Barcelona SC in Ecuador, not the Spanish Barcelona.

Isn't it! Lovely to see a bit of Morse Code in this digital age. Like remembering the Shipping Forecast still exists.

I would play him up front then the impact of not tracking back is lessened.
As long as he does a bit of pressing when the opposition centre halves have possession.
Also he's got enough pace to get on to the rare occasion when Gestede wins a header and usually flicks it forward to nobody.

The addiction to 442 and the Hofmeister suggests someone stuck in the 80's

Great adds mind.

If they take him back without any loss to us then fair enough

They will pay the same to us as we did to take him. So given we have paid his wages all season its just the typical Villa decision.

How is it a typical Villa decision? There's loads to beat us with without having to make things up. He got injured against Notts County when it looked like he might be about to get going. He never recovered since for any number of reasons.

Might want to learn to read. I never  "made things up". The clause is £7 Million which is the same that Villa paid for him. They could have agreed a clause that was slightly higher (say £8 Million) than what the paid to cover their expenses. As it stands, Barca get him back, he goes back and we have paid his wages for a year. Brilliant business sense.

Has the £7m buy out clause been confirmed as fact?
