I wouldn't blame him though, wanting to get out of the place a quickly as possible. He'll probably turn out to be a superstar, just not with us.
Barcelona have been in ‘fluid’ contact with the Spaniard as they consider their options for the summer transfer window.
If they take him back without any loss to us then fair enough

He got injured against Notts County when it looked like he might be about to get going. He never recovered since for any number of reasons.

The clause is £7 Million which is the same that Villa paid for him. They could have agreed a clause that was slightly higher (say £8 Million) than what the paid to cover their expenses. As it stands, Barca get him back, he goes back and we have paid his wages for a year. Brilliant business sense.
