I've been banging on like a mad man for years about the lack of movement off the ball and lack of imagination in our squad, well that has well and truly been addressed this summer and its rather bloody delightful.

                     Gueye.          Veretout.

Adama.                    Gil.                       Grealish.

                          Ayew/Gestede.

That midfield and front line has more movement than Spaghetti Junction, add Amavi and Bacuna bombing forward from full back and its all rather exciting, granted the tracking back would be none existant but we'll deal with that when we come to it.

Aston Villa 10 Chelsea 9  ;D

I don't think playing Gil grealish and traore all in same starting 11 if including a striker . Westwood is a mainstay as will Sanchez and gueye . Sinclair more likely than Gil at this moment. I m interested to see Sherwood exact plan.

Just so no one panics, he has stretched the shirt in the traditional new signing manner. So it's official.

Now, that's a proper fucking shirt stretching. Well played young man.

What we need is one of those Che Guevara Viva La Revolucion t-shirts made up with Sherwood's mug on it. Because that is exactly what this is. The dead club we all knew in February in a few short months has been smashed to pieces, burnt to the ground and is starting to be rebuilt.

And I'd spend my VillaCash on one  :)
I would also ... Come on you Design savvys, do some mock-ups.

Balague has now also said: On the positive side for Adama: great assistant if he has a good clever 9 in front of him, very fast and powerful so should adapt quickly

Balague from sky sports says: Adama, new Aston Villa player for €10m+ €2 in variables: fast, irregular, too individualistic and has to be more humble. Got my doubts
I do too, I think he's a great talent to have on board but he looks incredibly selfish in the way he plays. He has to learn to pass it or will end up down more blind alleys than Mr N'Zogbia.

Just told my lad that we'd signed a player from Barcelona.
"Is it Messi?" he asked. Oh to be 6 again.

What did you say? "Yes, I need to redecorate the ceiling!"

It doesn't seem that long ago you were unhappy with the lack of activity.

Actually the lack of net spend . I make it we are now +£10m roughly. Another £10-15m on a CB and RB and possibly a DCM and we are done

Would you have been happier if we paid twice what we did for each player we bought to make the net spend higher?

No it's more about spending the money to improve the areas that need improving. We aren't there yet defensively IMHO . Tonight will probably highlight the need for better players at RB and another top CB , we will see how westwood handles the middle of the park aswell.

Excellent signing...yes it's only youtube, but he's got Gabby's lightning speed...and an end product :)

The only negative I saw was the crappy dive to earn a penalty, a la Ashley Young.

The future is indeed looking bright (again).

What I'm excited about most is this young man's brain. He appears to have one. This goes against everything Aston Villa has stood for for the last five years. It feels like a new dawn.

Did Tim actually describe him as 'a little bit Messi, a little bit Ronaldo' - no pressure!
