Every time I see a new post I think he's signed.  Hope this hurries up!

You're part of the problem now. Can we just all agree to not post here until it's on the OS?

Agreed.

This is a great community

He looks like he's great on the ball and a good runner. Be an interesting signing and could arrive today.

Let's hope he doesn't get injured otherwise he would have bean a good runner.

For those getting impatient, go back to the Gueye and Veretout threads as examples. The players had signed/taken pics etc good while before the club officially posted it. Yet there was a thousand articles written in between the speculation that they were on the verge of signing and when they actually made it onto the OS.

Yeah, it does seem to be like that. I wonder if that touches on the takeover theory, i.e. even after we agree with player/agent/seller there's still work to do to get through to get some 3rd party on board with the deal as well.

There's a rumour on Villatalk that he's going to officially be announced and paraded in front of the crowd tomorrow night.

Take it the Barca transfer embargo is just on players in then?

I don't understand the embargo as they've bought a couple of players but they can't play for them or anybody else until January 1st.

That's a common misinterpretation from the press.  It's a ban on registering players, not actually signing them.  There was never a 'transfer embargo' - that just suits a headline better.

But ultimately it is the same thing and is probably easier understood than referring to it as a registration embargo.

Well no, it clearly isn't, if it was a ban on transfers they wouldn't have been able to sign people in preparation for January when they register them, referring to it as a transfer ban when they then go and make signings is just confusing.

While as if there was a transfer ban, they would simply agree to sign a player post deadline, let them train with the club and pay an additional amount to compensate the player for the lost 6 months wages.

Instead they sign them now and let them train with the club, pay their wages but the player would be unable to play for the club until January.

No difference from between the first and second scenario, apart from the technicalities.

The end result is players would still go to Barca and not play till Jan just like Turan did.

It's still misleading for no purpose, a simple "Barcelona are unable to register new signings until 2016 so any players joining them before this time will be restricted to the training ground until that date".
