That's how Blackburn's seems to work. They've sold Gestede to Villa but when there was talk of a player-exchange being part of any deal for Rhodes, it emerged that they couldn't bring a player in that manner.

Let's face it, if it turns out to be a glorified loan of one of Barca's bright young talents for a couple of seasons, on top of what we've already signed, it's still a good deal for us. Don't forget we almost get relegated every season!

Well no, it clearly isn't, if it was a ban on transfers they wouldn't have been able to sign people in preparation for January when they register them, referring to it as a transfer ban when they then go and make signings is just confusing.

Exactly - a buy back clause is better than a general buy-out clause. At least it is only the best team in the world who can activate it and not Liverpool and their ilk.

We will come to regret it when we meet them in the Champions League Final and he rips us apart.  Will we be happy to say "Ah look at the wonderful development job we finished"?

I may regret saying this later, but I am currently prepared to take this risk.

For those getting impatient, go back to the Gueye and Veretout threads as examples. The players had signed/taken pics etc good while before the club officially posted it. Yet there was a thousand articles written in between the speculation that they were on the verge of signing and when they actually made it onto the OS.
