Unfortunately some lazy pundits still haven't caught on or have blindly ignored the fact that since selling Benteke and Delph, we've actually gone about our business professionally, quietly and signed some quality players this summer that actually improve our squad as a whole.

They won't until we start winning. And frankly I don't think we deserve plaudits until they are earned. We can see this side is coming together but it will take a few wins for others to take note.

I agree TV. Friends have been asking me what Villa will do this season and my answer is that I genuinely don't know. So many new players, with no / little Premier league experience means it is hard to predict.

My feeling is we have a better squad now but our first team hasn't gelled yet. A mate told me today that we have had 7 shots on target in our 2 home games - "same Villa as last season" was his comment, but it doesn't feel like that to me. Too early for plaudits though, as you say.

Wrighty is famous as u put it as he was a footballer. That's the key point though he is often very simple in his radio and tv stuff he's enthusiastic and has character. From having seen his goalscoring record and checked out his premier league play he seems to know where the goal is!
I think they should have a strikers corner analysis section and he and shearer can dovetail and talk about the goal scorers and the positional play, runs and things . I'm not sure when he talks about any other play he's so knowledgeable
