His answer to Liverpool's "not quite there'ness" was a bit left field to say the least. Change tactics, personnel or manager? No, move to a new stadium apparently, and then all will be well.

That was either truly bizarre or mind blowingly brilliant.

Unfortunately some lazy pundits still haven't caught on or have blindly ignored the fact that since selling Benteke and Delph, we've actually gone about our business professionally, quietly and signed some quality players this summer that actually improve our squad as a whole.

They won't until we start winning. And frankly I don't think we deserve plaudits until they are earned. We can see this side is coming together but it will take a few wins for others to take note.

I agree TV. Friends have been asking me what Villa will do this season and my answer is that I genuinely don't know. So many new players, with no / little Premier league experience means it is hard to predict.

My feeling is we have a better squad now but our first team hasn't gelled yet. A mate told me today that we have had 7 shots on target in our 2 home games - "same Villa as last season" was his comment, but it doesn't feel like that to me. Too early for plaudits though, as you say.

What's he on about? 7 on target in 2? That's Barcelona-esque compared to last season!

I'd always build the team and then the squad. I'm a bit concerned we've done vice versa

We don't need more than four centre forwards for example. But we do need better ones. Or at least one of them.

We don't have 4 centre forwards, though, do we? I regard Gestede and Kozak as centre forwards.
Unless I'm missing the point you're making ...

Plus gabby and ayew - they both want to play centrally too.

So we only have 2 centre forwards then.

Putting it here because......

The BBC are doing a documentary on Wayne Rooney, and also doing a live commentary about the documentary on the BBC sport website. WTF. I didn't know he had single handedly won the World Cup or something.

Catching up watching wrighty on motd his analysis is  tinged with enthusiastic and simple comments make it somewhat endearing . He passes it to him goes past him its frightening and scores boom look at that. I'm para phasing.

I'd be more inclined to describe it as moronic.

Wrighty is famous as u put it as he was a footballer. That's the key point though he is often very simple in his radio and tv stuff he's enthusiastic and has character. From having seen his goalscoring record and checked out his premier league play he seems to know where the goal is!
I think they should have a strikers corner analysis section and he and shearer can dovetail and talk about the goal scorers and the positional play, runs and things . I'm not sure when he talks about any other play he's so knowledgeable
