Yes indeed - more excited than I thought possible when you're talking about the Villa and a transfer window.

The activity, the breadth of signings, surprises that really give me a lift , like Gestede.

I'll be absolutely delighted not to be a part of that complete gong show. Hopefully we'll all be sitting back while everyone else panics to get deals done, with the only activity being that one or two players will leave the club that we need to move on.

I feel far more optimistic than in most recent years, tinged with a dash of caution.  The caution is because there are a lot of unknown quantities,  and if not all the signings are Sherwood's choices there is the chance he might take to them.

Today is the transfer deadline day for Baseball. Maybe Randy got his sports muddled up and that's why Villa have done so much business by the end of July.

As we walked away from Wembley stadium in May, and I distinctly remember saying to my mates that I would be happy if every last one of the wastrels who had let us down so badly were got rid of and we started again.

That's pretty much what is happening, and I am over the moon about it.
