Tim has broken up a team/squad that is used to losing. The change in mentality at Bodymoor Heath must be massive. They will take time to settle,  we will probably lose to Bournemouth BUT we now have a team whose hunger is matched with potential and Tom Fox who has set out a clear blue print of the way to move forward.

Honestly I couldn't be more excited for the season to start. What a turn around from just a couple weeks ago when Tekkers and the snake left us. UTV!

Uber excited

Given how poor the prem is if the team gels we could easily finish top half.

Patience is needed though

For the first time in several years I am actually looking forward to the season. We may have some early season teething problems with so many new players, but am confident that the calibre of players being signed will make us a far better squad this season.

Very excited, we might take a few games to gel but it is a great transfer window so far.

Excited! Tempered by the probability these signings will take time to become a team. It wouldn't surprise me if we started with a few losses as Villa 2.0 hits its stride. It usually takes teams who have had this big a clear out time to gel right? (I genuinely can't remember the last time we had a good clear out like this so I could be wrong).

Concerned.Big number of players to integrate, many untried in Premiership. Very difficult season ahead I fear.

Whereas last summer we seemed to buy exclusively experienced Premier League players, some of whom had racked up hundred of matches.

And obviously that meant that last season went just fine.

We'll lose to Bournemouth.

It's just the Villa way whenever positivity pops up!

Last signing I was genuinely excited by was Darren Bent and before that Carew and Young. I've enjoyed this summers dealings but nothing's really grabbed like those deals did.

I think it's probably because back then we were in the top 6 and so weren't that far away from making the top 4 so you could dream those sort of signings could make the difference.

Now I'd be delighted with no threat of relegation whatsoever after the last 5 years and a nice comfortable mid table season which shows we're starting to build something again.

That will do for now. Takeover next summer please.

Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea etc seem to manage to integrate players without PL experience just fine.
