Adebayor is currently on 100k a week at Spurs. He'd been getting 170 at Man City and they'd continued to fund part of his wages for quite a good part of his Spurs contract.

I would imagine we would offer about half of that, which for a proven 1 in 2 striker isn't big wages. We paid Bent more.

Losing Benteke and signing Adebayor would be like losing a Maserati and getting a turd baguette in return.

We should be aiming to sign players on the way up (like Benteke and Delph, actually);  players hungry to make their name with us.

Rather than basket cases like Dr Alban, who are chasing one last payday and are happy to just poodle about.

If Paddy Reilly and  this new Sporting Director are to earn their corn, that's the type of lazy, unimaginative and ruinous  transfer deals we need to put a stop to.

Maybe Sherwood will turn out be be Ron Saunders mkII.  But recent history suggests he will be doing well to stay at the club for 2/3 years. Someone who is unlikely to be a long term employee shouldn't be given carte blanche to have total control over deals that could impact us long after they've gone, as per O'Neill, Houlieballs and the rest.

Adebayor today reacted angrily to comments by Kevin Gage by blasting "I don't know what his problem is. It's my life, not his"

We might have read the same article.

Why would he half his wages to join us?  It's unlikely Tottingham would subsidise half (or any) of his wages too.

Seems they would want a fee of £5 million and we'd have to pay anywhere between £60-100k per week on top of that. So an extra £9.3 million -  £15 million+ over three years or £12.5 million - £20 million over four.

No thanks.

He has also asked his mom to put a curse on him.

I don't see the logic in Adebayor as a short term fix with a younger striker being brought in also.  Why not just use Kozak for the Adebayor role?

Rumours on twitter of a 10m bid for Embolo.

I would say due to Kozak being out for such a long time and also being somewhat unproven when it comes to being the main striker of a premier league team.

Man City paid him 70k a week for 2 years as a Spurs players. Spurs want rid so if they pay him 2m to leave it would subsidise the loss. Plus he gets the chance to play for someone who believes in him rather than getting the odd appearance here and there. I would only offer 2 years at 50k anyway take it or leave it.

If we got the Adebayor that played under Sherwood before it would be a steal.

Whilst I don't want Adebayor, at least you'd almost guarantee some sort of goal return from him which can't be said of Kozak sadly

I thought he started to settle in well before he got injured.

Can't believe he'd cost that much. But he does look quite handy via you know where

Just never looked like being a proper goalscorer to me. Fingers crossed he can be, but it's a big gamble to have him as a second choice after being out for over a year IMHO

As one of four strikers (with two new ones and Gabby (AARGGH!) I guess it'd be ok though
