really shit highlights that only show our goals and then lots of odd editing but worth watching for the Amavi cross and the strike for the 3rd.  The cross in particular is a thing of absolute beauty, put them in to that area at that pace and they're impossible to defend.

I really really hope he goes 433 against Bournemouth

The problem with that is these teams are highly organised and right now, obviously, we're not.

We we warned about Sherwood's 'death or glory' approach but tonight I'd settle for a point whether it be Bournemouth or any other team as our first game. Playing entertaining football is great when we know what we're doing. I'm still not convinced Sherwood understands the meaning of cautious. Trying not to state the obvious but it's going to be a long season and every point counts. Let's not be stupid from Day 1.

I agree. On the other hand, not being organised means the opposition does not know what to expect and the extensive well documented dossiers are worth diddly squat.

A helter-skelter season beckons, as Timmah's Plan B unfolds. At least he had a Plan B.

Oh I agree. We have to our advantage nobody know anything about us. Very difficult to tactically plan against us. Slightly different to the last few years, what!

As I've mentioned elsewhere, the ball is firmly in Sherwood's court.

Went along yesterday. Wasn't that over impressed with us in the first half. We played some really good stuff in the second half though but the amount of goals we've conceded is a worry though although it may be a case of them switching off rather than bad defending.

Richards looks like he might be a hell of a player for us. Sinclair has goals in him which is good and we've got a few to come in and make starts. Cut out the sloppiness at the back and we'll be ok.

The way I see friendlies......get yourself up to match day fitness, do not overcommit on 50/50 challenges to avoid injuries, try something new that you cannot afford the luxury of during a league campaign. In other words I would not take anything from a friendly to reflect on match day performances.

Not sure what the profit has to do with pre-season friendlies but there you go.

I'm fairly certain it's to highlight some kind of negativity but not sure how.

Friendlies are purely about match fitness, teams probably aren't doing any homework on their opponents and defenders tend not to go the extra yard when blocking, challenging etc.
So I don't read anything into pre-season goals scored or conceded.
This week's work be all be geared specifically to Bournemouth and the strengths and weaknesses of their individual players and everyone will go out onto the pitch with specific jobs for every defensive situation.
Well hopefully they will.

I wouldn't read into it if it wasn't for the fact that we defended like a team of drunks last season too

I understand what you are saying but you should not be putting your body on the line in a friendly.  I didn't see the game yesterday so I cannot comment how poor the defending was or whether it was similar lapses to what we have come to see over the last few years.
