I remember hearing him do commentary on Spurs at Inter in the CL a couple of years ago in which [/b]he sounded pissed[/b]and kept saying "stay on your feet, stay on your feet" all the time.

He's got a reputation for liking his drink. And a reputation for driving home when he pissed.
Oh right

Oh dear  :-[

Ray Wilkins ?

I would really like to know who iniated this appointment. Fox or 'Tactics' ?

Ray Wilkins is a "recovering alcoholic" - 4 times over the limit on his second drunk driving arrest, whilst on bail from his first drunk driving. Jeez.

Whilst he was christened "the crab" as a player --- by the immortal Big Ron ---for always passing easy sideways, rarely finding a forward runner at Chelsea, it is his
Manager /Assitant Manager / Caretaker Manager roles I have a REAL PROBLEM with
his chronology:-

Fulham - SACKED
Chelsea - SACKED
Watford - SACKED
Millwall - "Went with Wise"
England U21s - Dispensed/ Not retained
Chelsea (again)- Publicly advised "contract not going to be renewed - will leave immediately" 6 months early

Fulham (again) - 2 months - removed

Whatever it is about him, God Knows, but his average time as a Manager or Assistant Manager, Coach or Caretaker...is....... 8 and a half months.

His average life as a pundit, TV/Radio goes into years.

Chris Evans  once said (after Ray had bad-mouthed Gazza for being a drunk --YES  :'( ) that Ray Wilkins was photgraphed more, coming out of Soho Square FA Headquarters, whilst out of work, than Gazza had ever been outside a pub or club.
Evans would know, as he was doing TFI -(whatever his Friday C4 show was called  :D)
at that time and would have had all the papp & goss rubbish.

Ray Wilkins is a networker/brown-noser supreme, imo, wherever he has worked, what on Earth has he achieved?

How long has he kept a job ? :'(

Some managers they say are good for 6-9 months, same for their coaches.

We have an excellent Asst Manager/Coach already - why do we need Wilkins ?

 :o

I agree and especially as guy is old and out of touch. He's 60 has a lot of problems off field and is old school rather the progressive. Its a global game but this is just jobs for the boys. The only thing in his favor is experience. Seems like twood wanted to help out wilko for a distraction to his drinking. But then grealish cant listen to any talks about being. Sensible offf piitch if coaches aren't the same.

I heard James Beattie came into Swansea and soonner have him. Villa need either a coach with knowledge of premier league and recently played to relate to players. Rio Ferdinand, Phil Neville , shay given even Joe Cole
More on this. Yet it was just me ??

Possibly he heard that we couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery and he thought that's a challenge he was up to.

A man had a problem in his life, made mistakes and he has fought (and likely still fighting) hard to correct the situation. Why are you still banging on about it? Judge him on his merits as a coach. If you think he's shit say so if you can justify it. But can you not leave his personal demons out of it? Would you be bringing it up if we were doing really well?

We'll be waiting for a long time if we're waiting for silhillvilla to back something up with anything resembling facts or constructive feedback.

Yes, despite my previous post, we can all change.

The issue with Wilkins it's unsure of what impact he is having as a coach, and unless we have been at the training ground, we cant really know.
