He was for throwing the ball away I think  ? and Robson got injured that game

Seems like yesterday which is frightening, can remember that so well. And yet, ask me the scores in a number of games Villa played last season and I wouldn't recall them at all. Memory is a funny old thing, certainly as you get older!

I'd say this is a good move.  He has good experience has worked at a high level, and is level headed.  He could a good sounding board for Sherwood.

Definitely an upgrade on what we've been used to recently and what seems like forever - since Little/Gregory/Evans. He has experience and contacts within the game and a high profile.

That said I couldn't stand him as a player - 86 Caps for passing the ball sideways and a meeja darling to boot. Every thing that was wrong with English football at the time. Excellent goal in Cup Final though

I dont remember his playing style that much

I know Big Ron called him the Crab , but he played for Man Utd and AC Milan so he must have had some ability
