From BBC:

Tim Sherwood has just said:" Some of the boys have been told they will not be here next year and they can go and find other clubs."

That trip home will be a laugh. You just knew this moment was coming. And I support him 100%. It's been a fucking resort down there for too long.

Too many feeble-minded thickos in the team. We need to up our collective IQ.

Very true, probably modelled on our previous manager. Well done Sherwood, although 'some' is rather underplaying it I feel...

Outplayed from start to finish by a far superior side.

The occasion got to a few of our lads I think and the others had a collective off day.

He wasn't the only culprit but Benteke looked as bad as he ever did under Lambert and you would assume he'll be off in the summer.

So if anyone thought we'd comfortably cruise to security next year I reckon you should think again. I'm just hoping Sherwood's bubble hasn't burst because his odd choices are fine when we win but they leave him wide open to criticism when we are getting dicked every other week. It won't take long for the Holte end to suss out another chancer.

What was disappointing was the attacking display. The lack of shooting at goal even and then also a lack of width was frustrating. Sherwood needed width of Sinclair in that match. I also think Villa seemed to freeze going forward and the only attacking idea came with diagonals to benteke. I thought Vlaar was great today and fair play to him. The players lacked responsibility in final attack and the moment was lost. Avfc are still a great club and can move forward but today was a tepid display from a tough season.

TS has already said that there are too many players with a losers attitude in the squad and he intends to bring some in who are "winners". Who these are will be interesting.
Come on down Steven Caulker, Andros Townsend and Tom Carroll.

In his interview with Shearer this morning, he was very clear that he wishes to build his own team pre-season because he's had no chance to do that at Villa or Spurs

If he was in the shop window today then I wouldn't be so sure about that tbh. He was clearly one of the worst players on the pitch, by some distance if we are honest.

Sat in the Arsenal bit and they are a bunch of expectant clowns. There were Arsenal fans on my train back to surf London that must have left early (as I did) that must have left well before the final whistle, let alone watch them lift the cup.

I am trying to be positive, goals 1 and 2 came at great times for them but we of course were pretty poor. Come home to see 2 little Villa fans in tears.

I don't care about the names of the players coming in. They just need to be better mentally and physically than the ones we have. He can find them in Sunday league, Tottenham reserves or Ligue 1 for all I care. As long as they are winners and have pride wearing our kit.

That would be lovely, but I'm preparing myself for the worst.

I don't what I am preparing myself for Dave. Every summer feels better than the last, natural for the optimistic football fan and yet at least recently each season feels like a harsher, sharper kick in the balls. I'd settle for a shit summer in the transfer market only to be shocked that a miracle has occurred and we play well all year. Off course in all likelihood we will get the shit summer, shit season combo meal deal.
