Typical Villa failing to convert two possible hat trick opportunities by playing negative defensive and oh yes turgid and dreary and ineffective football in the second half. NOT GOOD ENOUGH I am afraid!

I don't think I've ever seen a side start the second half with 10 men because a player is still receiving treatment in the dressing room. Surely if he's not ready when the side goes out you sub him?

It's understandable for opposition players to go hiding when they are up against 'The Mighty'.

I don't know that I have seen a side look such a shambles as Sunderland today. On and off the pitch they looked a complete mess. I am quite confident we really wanted to step it up we could have comfortably grabbed 2 or 3 more today. Scoring a fifth would have crushing to them and they would have opened up them again. Fully expect Poyet to be fired tomorrow.

Honestly how's  it possible to score 4 in 45 mins and then not find the net in the whole of the second half. Pathetic. Sherwood out!

The radio commentators said he was late out due to a boot problem. Was he injured?

Which begs the question. How dumb a manager do you have to be to play a clearly injured player when you have replacements on the bench?

I mean the man was openly hobbling the rest of the game. Thats insane, risking his injury like that just so he might score a free kick.

I feel like we're Dickie Attenborough popping up from that tunnel in The Great Escape. It's almost too easy...

Er.......you do know how that film ends though............................. ;)

Yes, but Attenborough would probably have escaped if he had dumped the Scot earlier.

Applause

On BT Sport last night in their football chat show they were examining Man Ure's run in games.   One of the precious tosser pundits commented "the only bit of respite for LVG is the game against Aston Villa".   Don't hold your breath.

If we play like we did today, we'll beat them easily.

I don't know about easily, but we certainly won't be going there like we did in 2013 to help them win their league title. That was such an embarrassing example of white flag waving only topped by our disgraceful capitulation at Spurs.

Don't want to piss on the bonfire but we are still only 3 points off the relegation zone. Remember we are Aston villa and nothing is ever easy.

If Lambert was still manager I would 100% agree with you. Mind you if Lambert was still manager we'd have been knocked out of the cup and we'd be discussing our away trips to Barnsley and Ipswich right about now on the back of a defeat on Wearside.
