agree with that paul_e

It was worth celebrating, I would also not have held it against them if the Baggies fans had done the same of they won.

These are two grand old clubs with great FA Cup records there is nothing wrong with celebrating in style when you progress. No people shouldn't have been on the pitch before full time (stupid and counter productive) and absolutely throwing seats around is to be acted upon (bloody dangerous) , but the post match invasion was completely fine. Good natured and nobody hurt during it.

Small time? To be honest the journos and fans of smaller clubs who throw that around are not worth our time anyway.

What was so terrible that coverage of "an incident like yesterday's" can't be criticised for the hyperbolistic nonsense that it was? There's been plenty of evidence that other clubs, most notably Manchester United DO get preferential treatment. That's not persecution complex, it's a fact.
No, the suggestion is that the Villa are discriminated against by the media for no other reason than because it's the Villa, which is nonsense.  That's the very definition of a persecution complex.  You may think the reporting is hyperbolic nonsense, others have a different view.  And if they do it's not because it's the Villa it's because they genuinely don't like seeing stuff like yesterday.

I'm goin to stick my neck out and say there is absolutely no chance we'll have to play behind closed doors. Fine and strict telling off. Also with regards to the Albion video where were the stewards and old bill?

I know that the post is addressed to someone else, but can you explain exactly what you thought was so bad about what happened last night?
Sure. I hate to see pissed up dickheads running on to the pitch while the game's still going on.  I hate to see pissed up dickheads running on to the pitch at the final whistle, while the players are still on the pitch, in a charged up derby game, when there clearly aren't enough stewards or police to cope with it if something went off.  I hate to see police and fans squaring up with batons being brandished.  I hate to see seats being ripped up and chucked at people.  I hate that the Villa's reputation suffers become some pissed up dickheads think it's okay.
Were you there, hilts? Not meant to be a 'better fan than yow' style question. Just intrigued.

I was at Millwall a couple of seasons back where their fans threw bottles onto the pitch because we won a free kick. One of the bottles narrowely missed a female steward and the ref stopped the game whilst it calmed down. I didn't see a fucking thing mentioned in the press about that.

You're right there. Some things happened that some people didn't like at all.

Ah yes, same game where Nzogbia was racially abused when taking corners if I recall. No mention of that either.

I think it was N'Zogbia who won the said free kick actually. Millwall have got away with a lot more than we're getting slagged for yesterday.

They do. I think we are entitled to be pissed off at the BBC stirring this shit up. Their coverage of us has been terrible for years, it is not crazy to assume they just do not like us.

Compare the deluded BBC commentary at the end of the game to Barry Glendenning's (no Villa fan) btw.

"Peep! Peep! Peeeeep! Anthony Taylor draws proceedings to a close and there’s another pitch invasion by hundreds of happy Villa fan. Most of the players sprint for the tunnel, but Villa skipper Fabian Delph gets caught in the middle of it and ends up being mobbed by happy supporters. "

Thats it.

Basically the fans running on the pitch before the final whistle were idiots and it was wrong. I don't mind after the end of the game provided it's done safely.
