Aston Villa v West Brom (Round 1) Pre-Match Thread
« on: February 28, 2015, 09:59:42 PM »
He most important game since the last one finished a few hours ago.

Poorest run in 52 years, 7 defeats on the spin, a manager hunting for his first win, while at the other end, they have only lost once in 11 games and kept 7 clean sheets.

Nailed on Villa win then.

We created some chances at Newcastle, good ones, but we have been hamstrung by dross in Gabby and Weimann all season and again today. Weimann is a pretty embarrassing excuse for a player.

Pulis will revert to type away from home and look not to lose, so first goal will be key.

I would go with Cissokho coming back in at full back for his height, Bacuna and Gil in for Cleverley and Agbonlahor, with Gil central and off Benteke. A bit of guile close to the big man who looked better today.

I agree with most of that including playing Gil, not sure about Bacuna though but anything but more Weiman and Gabby.

Was Aly injured or dropped today?

I was out watching rugby and wasn't paying much attention to the Match a Thread.

Bacuna offers more to a match than the useless crab like, mannequin Westwood. I fucking hate that player epitomises everything that's boring about us right now. He should be plying his trade in the lower reaches of the Championship.

Yes, sorry Dave but I'm sick to the back teeth of seeing shit like Westwood repeating the same mistakes over and over. I'd be happy to see him never play for the club again rather than take thousands out of it.

I love the club, not a fair few of the losers that are currently representing it embarrassingly.

Baggies could be without Berahino, Ideye and Anichebe so the likelihood is that Pulis may park the bus on Tuesday and play for a draw/not to lose. Speaking to a Baggies friend tonight he said they are playing typical Pulis tactics and football at times including running the clock down at dead ball situations.

We are way overdue a win so statistically the football gods should be shining in our favour for a few weeks...and they aren't even on a bad run so theres no excuses for us to roll over and give them 3 points like we usually do in our charitable way.

By the Power of McGrath...deliver us 3 points on Tuesday night!

I'd get a sense of proportion if I were you.

Does the quarter final go to a reply if it's a draw? Pretty sure it does.

Is this the Pre-Match if so:

Us 0 Them 2

We are a truly garbage football team and I can only see us winning one more game this season.

My sense of proportion tells me that we will lose both matches abjectly.
