Given made one brilliant save but as we know he is not too clever on crosses. Guzan commands his area in most situations. Let Given have the cup games.

I know he's slightly biased as he's Shay's mate, but Kevin Kilbane has been really scathing about Guzan on Twitter.

However, I think Given deserves a run now.
Guzan for me but fair play to Given, good performance today

I must say I thought Cleverley was our best midfielder today. I know there is not a high bar but credit where credit is due. By contrast Delph has been utter shit since signing the new contract.

Agree re Cleverly - he has been bobbins for ages but today I thought he was good....lots of good chasing back and getting stuck in.

When was the last time you can genuinely remember Villa coming out and looking a better team after a half time team talk?

We used to genuinely wonder what the hell Lambert had said to them to make them look even worse second half.

Gregory had this philosophy of keeping things very simple when he first arrived. I get the feeling Sherwood will be taking a very similar route to things.

I thought Westwood may have seen his last action for a while watching today actually. I can't see him keeping the 3 of them in there when they are so similar.

Pleased for us, pleased for the players, pleased for the Marshalls and pleased for Sherwood.

Of all the seasons to go on a decent cup run. Let's hope it breeds confidence.

Thought all our midfielders operated at about 75% today...that's an improvement for Cleverley, about average for Westwood and under par for Delph.

I look forward to Mr Sherwood getting a steady 90/95% out of them every game.

The Marshalls did well. No crashes, no injuries, no safety car needed.

Beat the boggies in the 6th round to get to Wembley

Beating them at Wembley in the semi final would be better.

Thank fuck - A WIN!

I'd forgotten what it was like not to have my weekend ruined.

Anyone else think Given should be our number 1 for the remainder of the season?
Yes

Nope, he is a great shot stopper as that save today illustrated but he still terrified me every time the opposition get a corner, he needs sat nav to get to the edge of the 6yd box - Guzan is much more active at defending set pieces.

Puzzles me how Weimann got MOM yes he works hard but geez there's little quality.Benteke must still be troubled by his long lay off he has lost a yard and he can hardly jump i don't expect too much of him til next season, he did run the lines better though. The second half was down to Sherwood, we ran quicker passed quicker and got it into the box a lot better.Delph seems to avoid the easy pass and then turns himself inside out. It will be very interesting to see how we line up against Stoke.

Given made two outstanding saves today, but still flapped at nearly every cross and had his brainfart when he tried to pass to Mahrez (I think) inside our six yard box.

Guzan still has a lot of credit in the bank to work through before we even consider bringing in Given as first choice.

Of all the problems we've had this season, GK hasn't been one of them.

I thought Given was extremely unlucky to lose his place after one iffy game back in 2012, but Brad has been one of our most consistent players since then.

Might be a tad harsh but I think Guzan has been below par of late.
