Not the firing of Lambert, that should have come on any number of previous occasions, but to go or a rookie like Sherwood was a dumb decision - or so I thought.Fact is, he's done a remarkable job, a job that only those of us who follow the Club and know what a total mess we were in can really quantify the improvement. Look at our improvement in the goals scored department, look at the improvement of individuals, the emergence of Grealish, our playing style , the way the crowds have flocked back etc. Personally, I don't think TS has had anywhere near the credit from the national media for the turnaround. We were in a mess of Billy McNeillesque proportions. I was wrong and it's great. Well done Tim.I think the majority of outsiders didn't realise how desperate the situation was. The likes of McInally and rent a gob Adrian Durham keep saying we would have stayed up under Lambert. I honestly don't think we'd have picked up another win had he stayed. After that game at Hull, there seemed no hope at all.Agreed - desperate stuff. If people are saying that PL would have kept us up, refer them to the Barcodes and their downward trajectory: we had the same southbound momentum..

Thinking about that Hull game, theres an argument to be made that winning that one probably would've relegated us.
I remember a few people saying Sherwood reminded them of John Gregory and in fairness he's repeated the trick of getting us out of trouble, although we were in a far worse position now than back then. Getting to a cup final and with a bit of style are bonuses. And with the crowds starting to flock back, he's definitely proved a lot of people wrong. The fact that our friends in Smethwick have dedicated a song to him says it all.
I am a little disappointed at the suggestion of a McGrath day for Sunday. It would have been more appropriate to do a "thanks Tim" day for me.
