Lacking experience but he's making us all eat some humble pie with what he has been able to do in such a short space of time. His tactical changes at HT, and whatever else he said were frankly brilliant. We played some really good football in the second half and if everyone has noticed our midfielders are really involved in our attacks now. That is a great change. Keep it up Tim!!

But it's not like he's our Alex Ferguson just yet. Let's see where we are in May, and this time next year before we break out the Champagne.

Giving out a little credit wouldn't kill you.

Giving out a little credit wouldn't kill you. If you want to look back, on the day of his appointment I said that he would give us the boost to win a few games immediately after his appointment, we would stay up and next year he would be found out as the chancer that he is.So far he's doing exactly as I thought he would. I'm not the one that suggested a couple of days before we hired him that he was "the new Paul Ince. Five minutes in the sun let alone 15 and he should be managing Aston Villa"
I don't deny for one second I didn't want him. In fact I'd go as far as admitting I even called him a chancer because that's exactly as he came across from his time at Spurs. But I will also readily admit that bit by bit I have liked what I have seen. That while he's not proven anything, he's going some way to proving that maybe we might have been a bit hasty in judging him. I will hold up my hands and say I was, and I will also say I have liked what he has said, how he has gone about things, and I certainly like what I am seeing on the pitch. It certainly hasn't anything remotely like jumping into a cremation oven that much I will tell you. But each to their own. I'll give credit where it is due.

Giving out a little credit wouldn't kill you. Nobody said he was Alex Ferguson and every single one of us knows that two wins doesn't mean he's arrived. But he's not remotely the disaster a few thought he'd be. We are still allowed to be wary and skeptical, but it is ok to say he's done really well given the circumstances of his arrival, and the state the club appeared to be in. In just over two weeks, the play is night and day to the last days of Lambert. For a manager of any experience level and certainly for one as inexperienced as he is that's some achievement.
