A win would be most helpful in seeing a positive future. It's a winnable fixture. Massive game. Should be a good atmosphere. Reckon we'll come flying out the traps.Let's put it this way. The gate has gone from 23k to 35k plus for a game versus Stoke. Villa fans just needed to feel a pulse to get back to doing what they love, and really feeling passionate about the club again. Up until this appointment we were as good as dead. The pulse was really faint. Surely that counts for something. There is zero chance we'd have got 23K against Stoke.

We were in a downward spiral towards relegation. At least now we have some semblance of hope.
Shawcross is out on Saturday which is a big boost, as is bojan

Ok, maybe not 23k, I don'it know it would have been a lot more if Lambert was still here. Certainly under 30k. I'd even have put money on us no longer being in the FA Cup. We would have a very disillusioned fan base, so saying even 27k is poor. And the atmosphere would be miserable.
Quote from: brian green on February 17, 2015, 06:19:26 AMAs I said the day of the Hull game, when you have a burst pipe in your loft the first thing you do is call for a plumber. The interior decorator and the carpet fitter come later. To spin that around somewhat: If you live in a stately home and spring a leak, would you call a rookie plumber?

Quote from: fredm on February 17, 2015, 03:18:12 PMPeople are saying he is not a tactician due to how he did at Spurs. Well he left there and has had time to take stock of how it went, what he may have done differently, etc. Who knows he may even have been having long chats with, say Mourinho, about tactics etc. We shall just have to wait and see how it all pans out. He is here, we have 13 matches to save ourselves from ignominy so we all need to get behind all of them and try and get us over the finish line.Bloody hell I hope he did not waste time talking tactics with old Pep at Bayern - look what it did to Lambert
