Chico and I were chatting to an Arsenal fan  in the pub after the game and he claimed to have a Tamworth mate who is friends with Sid. Allegedly, according to Sid, the players are demoralised and not playing for Lambert but looking for a contract elsewhere.

What most surprised me about this was that an Arsenal fan could  be bothered to listen to Villa rumours.

I think you are right sil.   He is daring them to sack him.   He knows he won the jackpot with that four year contract and he is determined to screw as much out of the club as he can.   because it was their idea to give him the four year contract in the first place they have to try to tough it out otherwise their ineffable stupidity is exposed.   It is like watching a Mexican stand off between protagonists armed with toy guns.

It's a question of pride now for me, and whether Lerner actually has any. Today was woeful. Embarrassing. We are setting all sorts of unwanted records, hence seeking pride from our owner.

I've used up all of my brownie points by staying out and having a few pints at my local post game. Come home, the kids are in bed and the missus opens the door after calling her mobile, the landline, and knocking the door and then the letterbox.
