Did anyone hear his interview on 5 Live? He sounded like he was at the bottom of a well. Even his mumbles were mumbled.

"We started the second half really well but the second goal was the most disappointing thing about today. What has annoyed me probably the most is the acceptance to then lose by a few more. I'm used to winning games; that is the way my football and managerial career has panned out."

I bet he's dying to be put out of his misery, however, he won't resign because of no payoff.  Meanwhile we are stuck in the middle with the club hurtling towards the championship.

Decent players start off generally ok under Lambert, then the rot sets in and all their form and confidence gradually evaporates. It's a disease - Gil will catch it soon. Lambert, please just resign.

I guess I'm all for Lambert going but I'm dead scared in who the fool at the top would bring in.

That's the beauty though, no one could do any worse.

I thought that after the semi retired heart patient got moved on. And been proved wrong. Twice.

Oh wow.  Remind us of your record over the past couple of seasons again Paul.

I rarely listen to PL's interviews but I did today.

I know that he's the stereotypical dour Scot, who makes Andy Murray seem hyper but I also got the impression that he just wants this over with

OS

Have to say I agree with a lot of what he said, apart from the Benteke chance which I don't remember being as clear as he makes it sound.

Quote
Paul Lambert bemoaned the concession of poor goals in the 5-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Boss Lambert was unhappy with the way Villa defended after the break as they went down at the Emirates Stadium.

The manager felt it could have been a very different game if his side had scored with two of their best chances - Andi Weimann just before the break and Christian Benteke just after it.

But the boss wasn't happy with the way his team gave away the Gunners goals in the second period.

He said: "The big chance was Andi's header but the keeper has made a great save.

"Christian had a great chance too. He should have scored.

"I said before we came here that we'd make chances but you have to take them.

"For about 60-65 minutes of that game, we were well in it.

"The goals after that were really poor. That's the disappointing thing.

"I didn't think it was a 5-0 game. But you can't capitulate the way we did to go five-down.

"We came into the game on the back of a good win last weekend. But to lose the goals the way we did was really disappointing.

"We had chances to get the goals. You have to take them, especially when you come to places like this. You have to be more clinical that what we were.

"It's something we have to keep working on.

"For the second goal, we had the ball near their penalty area. They've still got to run 80 yards to score. That's the disappointing thing when you're letting that happen.

"For the third goal, from our corner you get hit for a goal. That's not right.

"There were goals that I wasn't happy with."

Villa now face title-chasers Chelsea in B6 next Saturday.

He added: "That's the nature of the game, the nature of the Premier League.

"Every match you play is really big and really tough.

"It's a game you try and win. It's another really good side, a side who are going for the title."

If Mourinho cant end his Villa Park hoodoo against this shower, he should hand his coaching badges back to UEFA

Thats the rub though isn't it. Other teams that actually want to succeed would be so embarrassed by today there would be a reaction next week and Chelsea would know they would be in for one hell of a game.

Not so with us. We all know they will be even MORE nervous and waiting to concede against Chelsea then once we do we will shut up shop to try and lose by "only" 3 goals this time.

More guff and bollocks from the deluded one, and he thinks it's just accepted by all.

It's starting to remind me of the end of Sven's England career when everyone wanted him out, not least the FA, but they couldn't afford to pay him up and he wasn't going to turn down the compo.
