He's still trying to use the fuels backs as width. It's an utterly shit tactic and he doesn't see it. He must think we have Carlos Alberto and Roberto Carlos and not Hutton and Cissokho back there. Dope. It improved once Gil came on because, apparently he is good at it. I have no doubt in the next game he'll go back to the same old shit and drop Gil to the bench.

Going to have to try Richardson and Bacuna on the wings with Gil off Benteke.

Bojan, Eriksen provided moments of quality that won their sides games today, we have nothing in midfield that remotely compares to those two even.

He needs to stop the tactic of full backs as wing backs. He needs to keep Hutton and Cissokho as traditional full backs there to defend and only go higher up to protect the space opened by the attacking winger from that side. Then have specialist players in midfield and attack. Until then we are simply going to horrible.

I disagree with that, what we're doing with the fullbacks getting forward is ok so long as people offer them some support.  In the spell in the 2ns half where we looked decent Weimann, Gil and Delph got a lot closer to the fullbacks when they were coming forward and we looked a lot more capable.

What needs to change is the players need to be coached and encouraged to make runs and find angles for each other.  The thing that pains me most watching us is seeing Cisskho get closed down by 2-3 players and the only person who seems concerned with helping him out a little is sanchez who's 20 yards back and in the middle, all whilst Gabby, Cleverley, etc wander around aimlessly not getting involved but not getting in the box either.

Lambert doesn't believe in width & is negative.

The prime example was Gil, from the time he came on he was always making space ahead of the ball i'm worried that he might be too advanced for our plodders.

Again Lambert's mind set not to lose a game comes shining through, how he can call that excellent, beggars belief. 4 cent midfielders says it all.
If Gill had started it may just have allowed us to start a game with something we never do, momentum.
Okore looked poor at times today, but honestly believe that is because he had no faith in Baker.
Cleverly enough already said, but all of it correct, we dont wnat him, he does not want us, bye bye.
Benteke is waiting for things to happen, not making them happen, with our lack of creativity, we need more from him.
Then come to our esteemed captain, Gabby, just opened a web page 'who scored .com. The below comments say it all
Weaknesses, 5 in all, Holding onto the ball, Passing, Crossing, Aerial duels and Defensive contribution.
Strengths, Player has no significant strengths, yes it says  No significant strengths.
I did not go on this page for that, there was a comment made by Andy Gray yesterday before the match, that I think stated in 150 games he has scored 28 goals, wanted to check that, but that's not on there but the strengths and weaknesses are and with that our Tactically aware Manager Mr. Paul Lambert gives him the great honuor of being Captain of Aston Villa Football Club, that sums up where he has taken us and where we are going with him in charge.

Any other club would have seen this a long time ago - said 'thanks for the memories Gabby' cos that's all they are now - he's way, way past any peak - and got rid (to the long line of clubs that were queueing up to buy him !?!?)

Our shambles of a club said ' let's give him a new 4 year contract and make him Captain'

It's so annoying.

At least when things started going crap for McLeish you had the awareness that it wasn't going to go on, and he would get the sack eventually. But, with Lambert we don't have that feeling. That's what gets to me the most - I honestly believe he'll keep his job. That's what frustrates me the most. I don't want to care any more, but I do. More fool me. Becuase Lerner doesn't give a fuck as long as we stay in the league and 30,000 people are paying. Sad times. If we keep flirting with relegation then it'll catch up with us. We'll turn into a Forest, Leeds and Sheff Wednesday.

that's my uneducated, poorly written rant over. For now.

You can post tactics, formations and team selections on here until the cows come home.
Regardless of what they are, just remember who is ACTUALLY doing it, and realise that what is put in here means absolutely jack shit.

Spot on, with this tosser in charge you can talk for ever about playing the two full backs as centre forwards, the goalkeeper as an extra attacker at corners and bringing Carlos Cuellar back as our creative attacking midfield presence and still it would mean fuck all while we have endure the two pathetic idiots running our club

I will have to remind you that exactly the same  the same things were being said by most people right up to Mcliesh being sacked,
'He's going nowhere' was as is now a particular favourite

We are now getting close to the bottom three and Mr Lerner will start to panic very soon. As nobody wants to buy the club his only option is to get rid of the manager. He might do this, although it will cost him money, but he will have to rely on Tom Fox to provide any information on who might be available to take over. I wouldn't be sure Tom Fox has the knowledge to do this . I think there could be a chance that Sir Alex may be contacted and asked if he would take over until this season is over.

Fergie might just say yes.

It's the morning after and I'm still baffled as to why he thought packing a Gerrard free midfield with four center midfielders and playing Hutton as the main source to get crosses into the box was a good idea. No wonder we don't bloody score.

Quite right Ron as when we get to 14 left and in bottom 3 with 22 points from 24 games Lerner and Co will be shitting themselves as they see money flowing out of their wells.
Yes if Fergie comes here and turns this club around aka SGT than I will regard him as the greatest ever coach in our game.

If our silent and never seen clueless owner cared or  had any feeling for our once proud club at all,he would sack the clueless idiot we call a manager tonight and give us some hope
[/quote]

I saw the film Foxcatcher recently. In it a cluless american billionaire  John Du Pont took over the USA olympic wrestling team. Everyone knew he was clueless but went along with the pretence that he knew what he was doing.

Ring any bells?
