Delph was completely garbage, if you want to leave Fabian then please fuck off soon. Same for Benteke.

Gabby, Cleverley and Weimann never should wear the shirt again, Westwood and Cissokho were average at best. The defence looked dodgy as hell to me and Sanchez had a very poor game compared to the last two.

Overall............it's looking very bleak for us.

Well if you've 'tried everything to score' by definition that's all ideas exhausted. Time to go.

a decent 20 minute spell. But we didn't create too many real chances. A few half chances players were snatching at.
Can't see where our next point is coming from, we're in a relegation battle.

The decent 20 minute spell is a reversion to the mean. Until the last set of games, we have usually managed a promising 20 minutes usually to no avail on account of a match lasting 90+minutes.

Hutton, Sanchez and Delph (apart from that costly mistake at the end) looked decent. Gil looked promising.

Benteke received two really good crosses early on, one from Hutton and Gabby, and he did not acknowledge either. So what, you might say, but I think this is not a good sign.

Probably the most worrying aspect is that central defence, which has been our major strength, was targeted and looked dodgy.  I suppose you could argue that we started the season with Vlaar and Senderos so it is not that surprising.

In my life time this is the worst point of supporting Villa. Or at least the most frustrating

Lambert on five live "I thought we were excellent in the second half. All we needed was a goal."  Reminds me of the Jasper Carrot impression of the Tony Butler phone in all those years ago.  'Hello Tone, Andy Gray had this shot today and if it had gone in it would have been a goal.'

I hope we end this shit run of scoring by smacking 5 in like we did under BFR. The goals for column is just depressing. Can't comment too much otherwise as my only info on the game came from Sox Sports News. He said we weren't too bad overall.

Gary neville said that Ferguson would tell the Yanited team to go all out for the 20 minutes to get a goal and if it didnt happen they would make it to half-time and reassess.

I know we don't have the same quality but it would be nice at home to make the opposition have to concentrate on defending rather than nicely encourage them into settling down into there own rhythm.

Away teams must be busting at the seams to get to villa park to break any goal scoring ducks they may have.

Eight hours and forty-two minutes without a goal. Hungarian director Bela Tarr's excruciating and unremittingly grim film 'Satantango' is only seven hours and twenty minutes long. In the film there's a 10-minute-long shot of a field of cows, in the rain. There's a cat torture scene. There are demoralised peasants drinking themselves to death in it. It's in black and white. And yet - and yet - it's still infinitely more cheery, palatable and life-affirming than Aston Villa under Paul Lambert and Randy Lerner.

I'm off to drink a jerry can of red diesel and hang myself in a Hungarian cattle shed.

It's a good point that we start no games with any momentum. A few shots or a crunching tackle or some harrying from the strikers pushing them back anything to rouse the crowd really but we don't we start very slow passing sideways and letting the opposition have the ball where they like. By 25 minutes everyone in the crowd is bored shitless and a veil of silence sits over the ground. There's absolutely no entertainment watching this villa team.

If Lerner can't sell up at least sack this bag of shit managing us in to submission.
