So would I, but that doesn't mean Adama is overrated either. Over priced, probably, but you could say that about the vast majority of transfer fees now.

Transfer fees are simply beyond ludicrous. As much as I love having rich owners I hope they know what’s in front of them if we do go up. Bog standard players are £30m+ now. It’s insane. And what the fuck are Everton doing?

I hate being out of the top flight with a passion. However the thought of being part of that transfer circus isn't something I look forward to.

In reality if you make it into the prem you finish up no better off as you blow all the tv money on transfers and wages. The only ones that see a big benefit are the agents.

Absolutely.

I hated it when we were paying the likes of Luke Young and Habib Beye 40 grand a week - nowadays they'd probably be on four times that!

I imagine the players are fairly happy with the situation as well.

Don't forget the "poor" Managers on mere £3M , the going rate, a year.

We’re paying more than to McCormack and Hogan.

Luke Young wad actually a decent player, just another example of O’Neill’s poor man management.

He was a decent player - but he was still a right back and 40 grand a week was still a silly amount of money to be paying him.

Previous summer he went to Boro for about 2m and I'd imagine 20-25k a week.

I liked him aswell but that was the time to sign him as he hardly turned into Cafu in smoggy land.

Instead MON was content to sign Davies and Zat Knight and play Mellberg at RB....

It's a damn hard life, paid this kind of pittance, then the final insult when sacked is some sort of sweetner to pay you of.

At the risk of going wildly off topic (and over very old ground), MON was more than happy to buy bang average players for far too much money/wages.

I missed this at the time but Gil won the MLS's MVP award this season.

I appreciate the standard is pretty crap over there but I always felt there was a player in Gil. He just joined us at the worst possible time for him.

Buendia showed a bit of Carles at his best today. Emi will probably end-up in the USA too.
