Agree. I was excited to see him come on and thought he'd be a lot sharper on the ball than he was. I thought he was poor considering what I was expecting from him.

I know we're all rightfully furious about what happened in general yesterday, but nevertheless I thought it was absolutely glorious to see him smash that second one in. Hopefully he can get on a run now, even if 70 minutes is his limit for the foreseeable future.

That's what we're missing, somebody to just get in the area and scruff one in.  The odd world class finish from Gil and Ayew every now and again isn't nearly enough.

You're right - how many of our goals this season have been scored from inside the six yard box?

Lescott against Southampton the other week, Sinclair against Sunderland...

This guy could and should be our David Silva. The biggest problem he's got is that he gets shoved off the ball quite easily, Silva does, but not half as much as Gil. There's not much between them physically - David Silva is 5'7" and 10½ stone whereby Carles Gill is 5' 7" and just under 10stone(9.9)......The club should work on him to get the extra weight/muscle on between now and the start of next season, and hopefully he will be a bit more stronger on the ball.

The jury's out for me, he seems to go sideways an awful lot, similar to Westwood except Westwood passes sideways whereas Gil runs with the ball sideways.

It does, but for someone who appears to blessed with some considerable skill on the ball, he seems reluctant to run forward and penetrate the opposition defence. I would say the same of Grealish too.

I've said before that I think he is poor apart from the odd flash here and there and i haven't seen much else to convince me otherwise. i would have expected him to be able to take corners for a start and he rarely looks to thread a ball through to anyone, slows the game down quite a lot, and is lightweight. Technically nice but seems unable to unlock a defence when we are looking for a start player to do something. Couple of nice goals, mind.
