Palace by 3-1, two late goals. A sending off somewhere along the line too, is my prediction.

Going to be Lamberts big Ron moment. 3-0 up, 4-3 defeat.

Our likely side is the below but I'm concerned at the lack of pace and width supporting Benteke. We are relying primarily on Hutton to get beyond the Palace defence which is far from ideal. On recent form Weimann probably deserves to start but Gabby on left and Bacuna on right would give us more pace anyway. Not sure Westwood has done enough to get dropped but we are very samey in midfield and not hurting teams despite lots of possession against similar sides away from home lately.

Definitely need Sanchez to start as Jedinak will mince us physically it was just Westwood and Cleverley. Benteke should be a lot fitter with three weeks extra training but by all accounts he was pretty poor for Belgium lately. If he throws out a performance like at QPR, I wouldnt be long getting him off after half time.

--------------Guzan
Hutton, Okore, Clark, Cissokho
Weimann, Sanchez, Westwood, Cleverley
----------------Cole------------------
---------------Benteke

Grealish for Cole

Benteke for gabby

Not overly keen on Weimann but I think he's got three goals two assists , so would probably bring gabby on for 25 mins when people are tiring . Gabby always starts ok but he can't concentrate for a full game.

We need a point here . I'm going for 1 1.  But this is a much harder game than Burnley

Why would you swap Cole for grealish?

Don't think he's up to two games in three days , unless he plays 30 mins

I remember going there for I think (and I stand correct) Dwight Yorke's debut as sub in around 1990. We lost 1-0. I think Gary Thompson scored for them.
I think I was at that game. A cold wet Saturday afternoon of misery. Thompson scored in the first couple of minutes. Unfortunately we arrived five minutes late after wandering around Norwood looking for the shitehole. The view from the away terrace was awful - there was a pylon stuck in the middle of it.

Palace 0 Villa 4

You heard it here first

And you won't hear it again sadly

Can't see any way we will get anything here, perhaps a draw if we get the rub of the green and play ok

An excellent defeat.

"I thought we were excellent" is this seasons "we go again".

Always there regardless.

Villa to lead 1-0 until the 82nd minute, by which time all eleven of our players will have dropped back to the goal line to defend. Palace to equalize with a shot deflected of Weimann's backside.  Then they may or may not go on to get winner.

Can't see us getting anything here.

I'd go with (if fit).

Guzan
Hutton Okore Clark Cissokho
Sanchez
Westwood         Cleverly
Cole
Weimann Benteke

Cole and Weimann linked up well together. Weimann is better centrally.

Benteke has to come back in.

That looks good to me except I would start Grealish.

I always think you should have a bit of pace in the attack but I'd go with that line up.
